- Die LGV Rhin-Rhône ([ɛl.ʒe.ve ˈʁɛ̃ ˈʁoːn], kurz für Ligne à grande vitesse Rhin-Rhône, „Hochgeschwindigkeitsstrecke Rhein-Rhone“) ist eine teils in Betrieb befindliche, teils geplante Schnellfahrstrecke in Frankreich. Das Vorhaben hat eine doppelte Funktion: Zum einen sollen die Fahrzeiten zwischen dem Süd-Elsass/der Nordwestschweiz und Paris reduziert werden, zum anderen soll sie schnellere Verbindungen aus dem Elsass in den Raum Lyon ermöglichen, wo die Strecke an die LGV Rhône-Alpes anschließen soll. - La LGV Rhin-Rhône, ou ligne nouvelle 7 (LN7), est une ligne ferroviaire à grande vitesse française à écartement standard et à double voie. Encore inachevée, elle est prévue pour former un ensemble de lignes ferroviaires nouvelles en forme d'étoile à trois branches (Ouest, Est et Sud) autour de Dijon, avec une double fonctionnalité de trafic Est-Ouest et Nord-Sud. La branche Est est actuellement constituée de 137,5 km de ligne nouvelle entre Villers-les-Pots (Côte-d'Or) et Petit-Croix (Territoire de Belfort), ouverts à la circulation le 11 décembre 2011. Elle dessert les villes de Besançon, Montbéliard et Belfort, par le biais de deux gares nouvelles, et devrait à terme être prolongée pour constituer un total de 190 km de ligne nouvelle entre Dijon et Mulhouse. La branche Ouest, en projet, est destinée à raccorder la branche Est à la LGV Sud-Est, et ainsi à la région parisienne, en traversant l'agglomération dijonnaise par sa bordure orientale. La branche sud, également au stade de projet, représenterait environ 150 km de ligne nouvelle pour relier la branche Est à Lyon et à la LGV Méditerranée, assurant une connexion des bassins de population des villes de l'Est de la France, du Benelux, de l'Allemagne et du nord de la Suisse à la métropole lyonnaise et à l'arc méditerranéen. Ainsi, la LGV Rhin-Rhône est la première ligne nouvelle française à ne pas être directement reliée par l'intermédiaire du réseau à grande vitesse à la région Île-de-France, car l'emprunt du réseau classique via Dijon est nécessaire pour atteindre la LGV Sud-Est et donc la région précitée. La construction de la branche est était, au début des années 2010, l'un des grands chantiers conduits en France. Elle constitue la ligne no 014 000 du réseau ferré national, sous la dénomination « Ligne Rhin-Rhône (LGV) ». (fr)

The first phase of the eastern branch opened on 11 December 2011. Construction of its second phase was initially expected to start in 2014 but still has no funding. If completed, LGV Rhin-Rhône would have three branches:
* The , 190 km (120 mi) from Genlis, near Dijon to Lutterbach, near Mulhouse, of which 140 km (87 mi) have been built
* The , crossing Dijon, joining the LGV Sud-Est near Montbard and making the line a connection between Dijon and Paris
* The , from Dijon to Lyon The construction of the latter two branches and of the second phase of the is currently unfunded. Running north-south, the Southern branch line would help connect Germany, the north of Switzerland, and eastern France on the one hand with the valleys of the Saône, Rhône, the Mediterranean arc and finally Catalonia on the other. The east-west Eastern and Western branches lines would help connect on the one hand London, Brussels, Lille and Île-de-France (i.e., Paris and surroundings) with Burgundy, Franche-Comté, south Alsace, southern Baden, and Switzerland on the other. A connection will be built at Perrigny, south of Dijon, to serve TGV and freight trains. Auxon station will be connected to Besançon-Viotte station by a railway line which could be also used for commuter trains. It is projected that 12 million passengers per year will use the LGV Rhine-Rhône service. (en)
