- Die Festung Kongsvinger (norwegisch Kongsvinger festning) wurde in den Jahren 1673 bis 1784 angelegt und befindet sich auf der Westseite des Flusses Glomma im Stadtteil Tårstadt von Kongsvinger in der ostnorwegischen Provinz Innlandet. Vorläufer der Festung war die Vingersund Schanze (norw.: Vingersundet skanse), die später auch als Tråstad Schanze bezeichnet wurde. Die Festung ist heute im Besitz von und steht seit den 1920er Jahren unter Denkmalschutz. Seit 1971 steht auch ein Großteil des umliegenden Geländes durch den Beschluss der norwegischen Denkmalbehörde unter Schutz. (de)

It is situated on a hill west and north of the Glomma river, standing astride the ancient Vinger Royal Road, which connected Norway and Värmland, Sweden as well as on the north-south Norwegian route along the Glomma. As Kongsvinger formed a key junction point for these routes, fortifications were constructed there to protect against invasion from the east. (en)
