- مدينة الملك عبد الله للطاقة الذرية والمتجددة هي كيان علمي وبحثي وحكومي ذو شخصية اعتبارية مستقلة يترأس مجلس إدارتها وزير الطاقة والصناعة والثروة المعدنية، تعنى بشؤون الطاقة الذرية والمتجددة في المملكة العربية السعودية والمساهمة في التنمية المستدامة للمملكة. تأسست عام 1431هـ - 2010م بموجب الأمر الملكي رقم أ/ 35 وتاريخ 3/ 5/ 1431هـ ومقرها الرئيسي في مدينة الرياض. تقوم المدينة بإجراء الانشطة البحثية والتطبيقية لخدمة التنمية المستدامة وتقديم التوصيات فيما يخص الطاقة المتجددة والطاقة الذرية على المستوى الوطني. وتقوم بدور رئيسي في التخطيط لإدخال تقنيات الطاقة الذرية (السلمية) والمتجددة إلى المملكة العربية السعودية بما في ذلك المشاركة في إعداد الإستراتيجية الوطنية لإنشاء مزيج طاقة وطني متوازن ومستدام، ووضع الخطط اللازمة لتنفيذها، ودعم البرامج والشراكات البحثية والعلمية في هذا السياق والعمل على تطوير القدرات البشرية اللازمة في قطاعي الطاقة الذرية والمتجددة وتوطين المنتجات الصناعية الناتجة عنه. وتسعى المدينة إلى التنسيق مع شركائها من الجهات الحكومية والمؤسسات العلمية ومراكز البحوث التطبيقية لتبادل المعلومات والخبرات، وكذلك عقد الشراكات من خلال التعاون العلمي بين المملكة والمؤسسات العلمية الدولية. - The King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE) Is an scientific, research and governmental entity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that is legally independent chaired by the Minister of Energy, which deals with the issues of nuclear and renewable energy in Saudi Arabia and contributes to the sustainable development of the energy sector in the Kingdom and founded in 2010 headquartered in Riyadh city . K.A.CARE conducts applied research to serve sustainable development and provide recommendations regarding renewable energy and atomic energy on the national scale. It plays a key role in planning the introduction of peaceful nuclear energy technologies in Saudi Arabia, including participation in the preparation of the national strategy to establish a balanced and sustainable national energy mix, and to develop the necessary plans for its implementation as well as programs support, research and scientific partnerships in this context. K.A.CARE also works to develop the necessary human capacities in the nuclear and renewable energy sectors and to localize the industrial products resulting from these sectors. K.A.CARE seeks to coordinate with its partners from government agencies, scientific institutions and applied research centers to exchange information and experiences, as well as to establish partnerships through scientific cooperation between the Kingdom and international scientific institutions.
