- Kendallův test (také Kendallovo W nebo Kendallův koeficient konkordance) je neparametrická metoda matematické statistiky. Jedná se o normalizaci a může být používán pro posouzení shody hodnocení jednotlivých hodnotitelů. Kendallovo W se pohybuje mezi 0 (žádná shoda) a 1 (úplná shoda). Například pokud byl určitý počet respondentů požádán o seřazení daného seznamu politických problémů od nejdůležitějšího po nejméně důležitý, můžeme z výsledných dat vypočítat Kendallovo W. Pokud hodnota W na našem vzorku vyjde 1, znamená to, že se všichni respondenti zcela shodli a seřadili jednotlivé položky přesně stejně. Naopak pokud je W 0, není mezi respondenty žádný převažující trend a jejich odpovědi mohou být považovány za naprosto náhodné. Hodnoty W mezi 0 a 1 pak naznačují větší či menší míru shody mezi respondenty. Zatímco statistické testy užívající standardní Pearsonův korelační koeficient předpokládají normální rozdělení hodnot a porovnávají mezi sebou vždy dvě sekvence, Kendallův test nečiní žádný předpoklad o povaze pravděpodobnostního rozdělení a může zpracovat jakýkoli počet jednotlivých výsledků. - Kendall's W (also known as Kendall's coefficient of concordance) is a non-parametric statistic for rank correlation. It is a normalization of the statistic of the Friedman test, and can be used for assessing agreement among raters and in particular inter-rater reliability. Kendall's W ranges from 0 (no agreement) to 1 (complete agreement). Suppose, for instance, that a number of people have been asked to rank a list of political concerns, from the most important to the least important. Kendall's W can be calculated from these data. If the test statistic W is 1, then all the survey respondents have been unanimous, and each respondent has assigned the same order to the list of concerns. If W is 0, then there is no overall trend of agreement among the respondents, and their responses may be regarded as essentially random. Intermediate values of W indicate a greater or lesser degree of unanimity among the various responses. While tests using the standard Pearson correlation coefficient assume normally distributed values and compare two sequences of outcomes simultaneously, Kendall's W makes no assumptions regarding the nature of the probability distribution and can handle any number of distinct outcomes. Statystyka ta może być używana do sprawdzania zgodności pomiędzy rankingami pochodzącymi z wielu źródeł, np. ocenami tej samej rzeczy, pochodzącymi od różnych osób. Jej wartości mieszczą się w przedziale od 0 (brak zgodności) do 1 (pełna zgodność). Załóżmy, że grupa ludzi była poproszona o uszeregowanie ich sympatii politycznych od najbardziej do najmniej lubianej partii. Jeśli wyliczona na tym zbiorze statystyka W Kendalla będzie równa 1, wszyscy respondenci zgodnie podali ten sam ranking. Jeśli będzie równa 0, prawdopodobnie nie istnieje żadna prawidłowość w odpowiedziach respondentów. Wartości pośrednie odpowiadają mniejszej lub większej zgodności ocen. W Kendalla zakłada jedynie, że porównywane oceny są co najmniej na skali porządkowej. Nie ma ograniczeń na maksymalną liczbę obserwacji lub zmiennych.
