Die Gruppe um Gitarrist David Lindley mischte in ihren Songs Elemente des Acid Rock mit Cajun-Musik- und Blues-, aber auch arabisch-asiatischen Elementen. Dafür verwendeten die Musiker neben den typischen Rockinstrumenten unter anderem auch Geigen, Banjos und Mandolinen. Il loro stile esprimeva un rock psichedelico con ampie contaminazioni di country, folk ed ampio uso di strumenti esotici e poco convenzionali, che ha portato alcuni critici a considerare la loro musica un esempio di world music ante litteram. David Lindley och Chris Darrow tog initiativ till gruppens skapande, och satte snabbt ihop en musikgrupp med bl.a. banjo, fiol sida vid sida med turkiska instrument. Gruppen blandade ofta in mellanöstern-influenser i sina låtar, och även mycket blues. En av deras kändaste låtar är "", men gruppen nådde aldrig ut kommersiellt då det begav sig. (sv)
