- Das Journal of Geophysical Research ist eine jährlich erscheinende begutachtete wissenschaftliche Fachzeitschrift, die von Wiley für die American Geophysical Union herausgegeben wird. Sie erscheint seit 1896, ursprünglich unter der Bezeichnung Terrestrial Magnetism, später dann unter als Terrestrial Magnetism and Atmospheric Electricity. Heute ist sie in sieben unterschiedliche Sektionen gegliedert, die mit A bis G nummeriert sind und unterschiedliche Fachbereiche abdecken: A (Space Physics), B (Solid Earth), C (Oceans), D (Atmospheres), E (Planets), F (Earth Surface), and G (Biogeosciences). Der Impact Factor lag im Jahr 2014 bei 3,426, der fünfjährige Impact Factor bei 3,667. Bauer en 1896, y Magnetismo Terrestre y Electricidad Atmosférica de 1899 a 1948. En 1980 JGR fue dividida en tres revistas especializadas componente, JGR-Física Espacial (parte A), JGR-Solid Earth (Parte B), y JGR-Océanos (Parte C). Il nome fu cambiato in Terrestrial Magnetism and Atmospheric Electricity nel periodo 1899-1948, acquisendo, dopo la guerra il nome con cui è oggi conosciuto. Nel 1980 JGR è stata divisa in tre diversi giornali, JGR-Space Physics (Parte A)), JGR-Solid Earth (Parte B), e JGR-Oceans (Parte C). In seguito sono stati aggiunti altri titoli: JGR-Atmospheres (Parte D) nel 1984, JGR-Planets (Parte E) nel 1991, JGR-Earth Surface (Parte F) nel 2003, e JGR-Biogeosciences (Parte G) nel 2005. L'AGU fornisce a chiunque si abboni alla rivista l'accesso agli articoli in formato elettronico, per tutto il periodo dal 1994 ad oggi.
