- Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) ist eine Universität in Kenia. Sie befindet sich in Juja, 36 km nordöstlich der Hauptstadt Nairobi. Die Bildungseinrichtung wurde 1981 als Mittelstufen-College (Jomo Kenyatta College of Agriculture and Technology, JKCAT) von der Regierung Kenias mit großzügiger Unterstützung durch die japanische Regierung begonnen. Die Pläne für die Einrichtung von JKCAT begannen im Jahr 1977, und 1978 spendete Staatsgründer Jomo Kenyatta zweihundert Hektar Ackerland für die Gründung der Hochschule. Daniel Arap Moi eröffnete offiziell JKCAT am 17. März 1982.Mit dem Namen Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology wurde die Hochschule 1994 zur Universität. Im Jahr 2013 hatte die Hochschule 5.560 Absolventen, insgesamt hat sie 2014 ca. 37.000 Studenten auf dem Juja Campus und weiteren.Schwerpunkte bilden die Studiengänge der Ingenieurswissenschaften, Naturwissenschaften und Agrarwissenschaften.

Notable alumni include Dr. Paul Chepkwony, the first Governor of Kericho County in Kenya and a former lecturer, Emma Miloyo, a prominent Kenyan architect and the first female President of the Architectural Association of Kenya, as well as Aden Duale, the former Leader of Majority in the 11th Kenyan Parliament among others. Plany utworzenia uczelni o charakterze rolniczo-technicznym zaczęto tworzyć w 1977 roku. Rok później prezydent Kenii, Jomo Kenyatta, przekazał na ten cel 200 hektarów ziemi. Szkoła nazwana Jomo Kenyatta College of Agriculture and Technology powstała we współpracy rządu kenijskiego i rządu Japonii. Pierwsi studenci zostali przyjęci 4 maja 1981, a oficjalna ceremonia otwarcia uczelni, przez prezydenta Daniela Moi, odbyła się 17 marca 1982. W kwietniu 1984 pierwsza grupa absolwentów otrzymała dyplomy agrotechniki, technologii żywności i ogrodnictwa. 1 września 1988 uczelnia zyskała status wydziału uniwersyteckiego, należącego do i otrzymała nazwę Jomo Kenyatta University College of Agriculture and Technology. 7 grudnia 1994 roku została podniesiona do rangi samodzielnego uniwersytetu.
