- Commodore Jeanette Morang (May 12, 1965) is an active Dutch officer in the Royal Netherlands Navy. Enlisting in 1983, Morang completed training as a naval officer at the Royal Naval Institute in 1986. She has held a number of ship and shore based appointments. In 1997, Morang commanded the minehunter . From 1999 to 2003 she was head of intelligence and operations for the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba Coast Guard. Morang was the first female frigate commander in the Royal Netherlands Navy. On 12 January 2007, at 41 years of age, Morang was appointed as commander of the air defense and command frigate (LCF) HNLMS De Ruyter (F804). She held this appointment until July 2009. After that, she worked on the staff of Commander Naval Forces in The Hague until 2013 and as a liaison officer with NATO in Brussels. On 14 June 2019, Morang was be promoted to the rank of commodore. This made her the first female flag officer in the Royal Netherlands Navy. On 24 June 2019 Morang was appointed Commander Surface Forces NATO (COMSURFNATO). (en)
- Jeanette Morang (12 mei 1965) is een Nederlands officier werkzaam bij de Nederlandse marine. In 1986 voltooide Morang de opleiding tot marineofficier aan het Koninklijk Instituut voor de Marine. Ze was van 1995 tot 1997 luchtverdedigingsofficier op de Hr.Ms. Witte de With en van 1997 tot 1999 commandant op de Hr.Ms. Alkmaar. Van 1999 tot 2003 was ze hoofd inlichtingen en operaties bij de Kustwacht Caribisch Gebied, waarna ze naar de staf in Nederland verhuisde. Ze was in 2006 eerste officier van Hr.Ms. De Zeven Provinciën, een luchtverdedigings- en commandofregat. Morang is de eerste vrouwelijke fregatcommandant in de Koninklijke Marine. Op vrijdag 12 januari 2007 werd ze, op 41-jarige leeftijd, aangesteld als commandant van het luchtverdedigings- en commandofregat (LCF) Hr. Ms. De Ruyter. Ze nam het bevel over van kapitein-luitenant ter zee Rob Bauer. Deze taak voerde ze uit tot juli 2009. Daarna werkte ze in de staf van de Commandant Zeestrijdkrachten in Den Haag tot ze in 2013 verbindingsofficier werd bij de NAVO in Brussel. In 2019 werd ze de eerste vrouwelijke vlagofficier van de Koninklijke Marine. Ze is verbonden aan het maritiem commandocentrum van de NAVO in Northwood. Toen Morang in 2019 bevorderd werd tot commandeur telde Defensie nog één andere vrouwelijke vlag- of opperofficier: commodore Elanor Boekholt-O'Sullivan van de luchtmacht. (nl)
