His work displays the classicizing influences of his father Erasmus Quellinus the Younger and Paolo Veronese. Mainly active in his native Antwerp, he worked for some time in Vienna for the Habsburg court as a court painter to Emperor Leopold I. (en)

- Jan Erasmus Quellin(us) (Antwerpen, 1634 - Mechelen, 11 maart 1715) was een Brabants barokschilder. Hij was de zoon van Erasmus Quellinus II en kreeg zijn opleiding in diens atelier. Hij schilderde historische taferelen en religieuze onderwerpen. In 1660 verbleef hij in Venetië en bij zijn terugkeer werd hij als meester ingeschreven bij de Sint-Lucasgilde. In 1662 huwde hij met de dochter van de schilder David II Teniers. Jan Erasmus Quellinus vervaardigde werken voor verschillende kloosters, waaronder de abdij van Averbode. Hij stierf blind en in armoedige omstandigheden.

W l. 1660-61 przebywał w Rzymie, gdzie wstąpił do stowarzyszenia malarzy Schildersbent, przyjmując pseudonim Cederboom (flam. Drzewo cedrowe). Po powrocie do Antwerpii został członkiem gildii św. Łukasza. W 1712 przeniósł się na stałe do Mechelen. W 1680 został malarzem nadwornym cesarza Leopolda I, dla którego wykonał 15 malowideł plafonowych z Żywotem cesarza Karola V (1681). Malował monumentalne kompozycje ołtarzowe i in. obrazy religijne dla kościołów i klasztorów Brabancji. Pozostawał pod wpływem swego ojca i Paola Veronesego. (pl)
