- Invariance is a French magazine edited by Jacques Camatte, published since 1968. It emerged from the Italian left-communist tradition associated with Amadeo Bordiga and it originally bore the subtitle "Invariance of the theory of the proletariat", indicating Bordiga's notion of the unchanging nature of communist theory. Invariance was instrumental in bringing unknown and obscure texts of the Communist Left (Bordiga and the Italian Left, Gorter and Pannekoek from the Dutch-German Left, as well as many others, including Lukacs and Sylvia Pankhurst to the attention of the '68 generation. It also played a major -albeit largely unknown- role in the 1970's crises and dissolution of councilist organisations such as ICO in France and Solidarity in the UK. However, around 1972-75 it broke with many of the tenets of Bordigism and Marxism per se, arguing that in the aftermath of May '68 there was no longer any potential for the working class to escape the domination of capital through revolution. Instead it began to take the line that humanity itself had become "domesticated" by the rule of capital and the only solution was to "leave this world", a view which came to influence Fredy Perlman, John Zerzan and others in their development of Anarcho-primitivism. It was this radical shift in orientation which caused many of its critics to observe: "nothing varies more than Invariance ". Invariance is now in its fifth series and appears sporadically. Every cover features the same image of a tree (held to represent that "all is life"), and on the back the phrase: "Time is the invention of men incapable of love". (en)
- Invariance es una revista francesa de publicación irregular y un grupo militante del mismo nombre fundado por Jacques Camatte en 1968, tras su ruptura con el Partido Comunista Internacional, cuyas posiciones consideraba demasiado activistas.. Dejó el PCInt con Roger Dangeville, quien fundó la revista Le Fil du temps con una observación similar. Inicialmente volcada en una línea de estricta ortodoxia bordiguista, Invariance publicaba textos de análisis teórico y discutía fácilmente con otros grupos de ultraizquierda de la época. Invariance se alejó gradualmente de esta tradición para finalmente romper con el marxismo y desarrollar temas cercanos al anarco-primitivismo. Ciertos militantes han abandonado entonces la estela de Invariance para constituir en los años 1970 otras organizaciones que se reclaman de la herencia estricta de las seis primeros números de la revista, tales como el Groupe communiste mondial y más tarde el grupo Communisme ou civilisation. - Invariance est une revue française à la parution irrégulière et un groupe militant du même nom fondée par Jacques Camatte en 1968, à la suite de sa rupture avec le Parti communiste international dont il jugeait les positions trop activistes. Il quitte le PCInt avec Roger Dangeville qui fonde la revue le Fil du temps sur un constat similaire. D'abord consacrée à une ligne de stricte orthodoxie bordiguiste, Invariance publie des textes d'analyse théorique et elle polémique volontiers avec d'autres groupes de l'ultra-gauche de l'époque. Invariance s'éloigne peu à peu de cette tradition pour finalement rompre avec le marxisme et développer des thèmes proches de l'anarcho-primitivisme. Certains militants ont alors quitté le sillage d'Invariance pour constituer dans les années 1970 d'autres organisations se réclamant de l'héritage strict des six premiers numéros de la revue, tels que le Groupe communiste mondial puis plus tard le groupe Communisme ou civilisation. En 1996, un militant d'Invariance quitte le groupe pour fonder la revue (Dis)continuité qui développe des thèmes bordiguistes et naturiens. (fr)
