- L’Association internationale de signalisation maritime (AISM), souvent plus connue sous son sigle anglais IALA (International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities), est une association internationale sans but lucratif créée en 1957 par une vingtaine de pays, dont la France, pour homogénéiser et améliorer la qualité du balisage et répondre aux attentes des usagers de ces aides à la navigation. Cette association, dont le siège est en France à Saint-Germain-en-Laye, est ouverte aux organisations concernées par la signalisation maritime, ainsi qu'aux institutions scientifiques et aux fabricants de matériel. Elle compte environ 250 membres dont 80 services nationaux (dont le service français des Phares et balises) et autant d'industriels. L'Association est transformée en une organisation internationale de nature intergouvernementale portant le nom de Organisation internationale pour les aides à la navigation maritime, à la suite d'uin accord signé à Paris le 27 janvier 2021. Cette transformation permet ainsi à l’association de disposer d’une personnalité juridique internationale et de la capacité juridique nécessaire à la mise en œuvre de ses objectifs. (fr)

International Association of Lighthouse Authorities skrót IALA, pełna nazwa International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities) – powstała w 1957 międzynarodowa organizacja skupiająca narodowe organizacje odpowiedzialne za oznakowanie nawigacyjne, producentów, dystrybutorów lub konsultantów w dziedzinie pomocy nawigacyjnych, których zarekomendują władze danego kraju. Istnieją również członkowie stowarzyszeni, którymi mogą być porty, organizacje naukowe lub inne których działalność ma związek z pomocami nawigacyjnymi. Siedziba organizacji znajduje się w Saint-Germain-en-Laye we Francji. Największym osiągnięciem IALA było wprowadzenie w 1976 niemal jednolitego międzynarodowego systemu nawigacyjnego oznakowania morskiego, który zyskuje sobie również coraz większą popularność na wodach śródlądowych.
