- Eine Identitätskrise ist eine Krise, die durch ein unsicheres Selbstbild verursacht wird und dazu führt, dass die Wahrnehmung der Identität hinterfragt wird. Betroffene hinterfragen hierbei ihre eigene Identität und die Identifikation mit dieser, welche sich meist auf die eigenen Handlungen, Charaktereigenschaften, Meinungen und das gewählte soziale Umfeld bezieht. Einer Identitätskrise kann ein (befürchteter) Identitätsverlust zu Grunde liegen, welcher zum Beispiel durch ein traumatisches Ereignis, eine seelische Erschütterung oder (psychische) Krankheiten ausgelöst wird. Eine Identitätskrise kann zum Beispiel durch persönliche, berufliche, religiöse, politische bzw. weltanschauliche Veränderungen oder Umorientierung auftreten. La etapa del desarrollo psicosocial en la que puede ocurrir una crisis de identidad se denomina cohesión de identidad versus confusión de roles. Durante esta etapa, los adolescentes se enfrentan al crecimiento físico, la madurez sexual y la integración de ideas sobre sí mismos y sobre lo que otros piensan de ellos. Por tanto, los adolescentes forman su propia imagen y soportan la tarea de resolver la crisis de su identidad básica del yo. The term was coined by German psychologist Erik Erikson. The stage of psychosocial development in which identity crisis may occur is called the identity cohesion vs. role confusion. During this stage, adolescents are faced with physical growth, sexual maturity, and integrating ideas of themselves and about what others think of them. Adolescents therefore form their self-image and endure the task of resolving the crisis of their basic ego identity.
