- Das Holland Festival ist das größte und älteste Kunst- und Musikfestival der Niederlande. Es wurde 1947 gegründet und findet jährlich Anfang Juni in Amsterdam statt. Im Mittelpunkt stehen klassische und zeitgenössische Darbietungen aus Theater, Musik, Tanz, Oper und Film. Das gemeinsame Projekt von in erster Linie niederländischen Orchestern, Opern-, Theater- und Tanzgruppen bot von jeher ebenfalls eine Plattform für ausländische Künstler und entwickelte sich somit auch zu einem Instrument des interkulturellen Austauschs im Bereich der darstellenden Künste. It comprises theatre, music, opera and modern dance. In recent years, multimedia, visual arts, film and architecture were added to the festival roster. Performances take place in Amsterdam venues such as the city theatre, the opera, the Concertgebouw and Muziekgebouw concert halls and the Westergas factory site. Si svolge ogni giugno ad Amsterdam e comprende teatro, musica, opera e danza moderna. Negli ultimi anni all'elenco delle attività del festival sono stati aggiunti multimedia, arti visive, cinema e architettura. Le esibizioni si svolgono nei locali di Amsterdam, come il teatro della città, l'opera, le sale da concerto Concertgebouw e Muziekgebouw e lo stabilimento di Westergas. Ogni edizione è a tema libero e il programma presenta sia lavori contemporanei che pezzi classici presentati con un tocco moderno. Dal 2005 al 2014 l'Holland Festival è stato curato dal direttore artistico Pierre Audi, che ha lavorato a stretto contatto con il coordinatore artistico Lieven Bertels offrendo un festival all'avanguardia ad ogni edizione.
