- Die HMS Scylla war ein britischer Leichter Kreuzer der Dido-Klasse während des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Die Scylla wurde auf der Werft von Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering in Greenock gebaut. - HMS Scylla was a Dido-class cruiser of the Royal Navy. She was built by Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering Company (Greenock, Scotland), with the keel being laid down on 19 April 1939. She was launched on 24 July 1940, and commissioned 12 June 1942. One of two sisters (the other was, appropriately, Charybdis, see Scylla and Charybdis), Scylla was completed with four twin QF 4.5 in Mk.III in UD MK III mountings because of a shortage of the intended QF 5.25 inch gun mountings. The forward superstructure was considerably modified to accommodate these and also to increase crew spaces. Known as the 'toothless terrors', they proved to be very good anti-aircraft ships, often leading to comparisons with their sisters armed with the heavier QF 5.25 in (133 mm) guns. (en)

- La HMS Scylla (Pennant number 98), quarta nave da guerra britannica a portare questo nome, è stata un incrociatore leggero classe Dido della Royal Navy. Venne impostata nei cantieri della Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering Company il 19 aprile 1939, varata il 24 luglio 1940 ed entrò in servizio il 12 giugno 1942 in piena seconda guerra mondiale. A causa della mancanza di pezzi da 133 mm la Scylla, insieme alla sorella Charybdis venne completata con 4 installazioni binate da 113 mm. Le sovrastrutture di prua vennero modificate per ospitare queste armi e per aumentare gli spazi dedicati all'equipaggio. Alle navi venne affibbiato il nomignolo di toothless terrors (Terrori senza denti) ma in realtà si dimostrarono efficaci navi antiaeree, anche di più delle altre navi della classe armate con gli ingombranti pezzi da 133 mm.
