Είναι χτισμένος σε υψόμετρο 1.380 μέτρων στις πλαγιές του όρους Γράμμου και αποτελεί έναν από τους πιο ορεινούς οικισμούς της Ελλάδας. Μέχρι το 1927, ο οικισμός είχε την βλάχικη ονομασία Γράμμο(υ)στα. Ο Γράμος αποτελεί ξεχωριστή δημοτική ενότητα και σύμφωνα με την απογραφή του 2011 έχει 18 κατοίκους. Ο Γράμος τις προηγούμενες δεκαετίες είχε ερημώσει τελείως, αλλά τα τελευταία χρόνια αρχίζει να αξιοποιείται τουριστικά. Πάνω από το χωριό βρίσκεται η ψηλότερη κορυφή του όρους Γράμμου καθώς και η αλπική λίμνη Γκιστόβα, με αποτέλεσμα το χωριό να είναι αφετηρία ορειβατών. Απέχει 70 χλμ. από την Καστοριά. (el)
