Ils ont enregistré quelques morceaux qui ont fait découvrir à plusieurs la Trance Progressive, sous-genre de la trance. Pour se donner une idée de leur importance sur la scène trance à cette époque, il faut savoir que les quatre singles de Gouryella ont figuré sur beaucoup de compilations de musiques électroniques. Le nom de Gouryella signifie paradis en langage aborigène. En 1999, le premier single, Gouryella, est très bien reçu : il contient des remixes de DJ Gigolo et d'Armin van Buuren. et sur une edition speciale Gorella, un morceau disponible sur la compilation Space Age 2.0, Walhalla, paru en 1999 également, contient un remix d'Armin van Buuren et d'Hybrid. Il est interprété par la chanteuse néerlandaise Rachel Spier. La sortie de Tenshi en 2000 fut un léger changement de style dans le travail de Gouryella et quelques fans dirent que le mouvement vers une ligne de synthé plus électrique montrait l'influence grandissante de Tiësto. Toutefois, un étonnant remix de Transa assura le morceau d'être un classique en club. En 2000, Tiësto décida de se concentrer sur sa carrière solo et laissa Ferry Corsten écrire et produire Ligaya seul en 2001. Ferry Corsten produit donc Ligaya en 2001, un morceau qui contient des éléments vocaux féminins, la voix de la chanteuse néerlandaise Patty Gaddum . John Ewbank participa à la création de la chanson. Paul van Dyk, Green Court et Airbase remixèrent ce titre. Gouryella a aussi remixé deux titres pour d'autres artistes, les deux en 1999: Messages pour Solange et 1999 pour Binary Finary. (fr)
