Ginuwine…the Bachelor is the 1996 debut album of R&B singer Ginuwine, produced by Timbaland and released by Epic Records. This album and Aaliyah's One in a Million and Timbaland's Tim's Bio: Life from da Bassment, also chiefly produced by Timbaland, are credited with shifting the style of R&B music away from the hip-hop soul sound popular in the mid-1990s and towards a more pop-based sound with syncopated rhythms and electronic instrumentation.

  • Ginuwine…the Bachelor is the 1996 debut album of R&B singer Ginuwine, produced by Timbaland and released by Epic Records. Much of Ginuwine…the Bachelor was in fact recorded between 1993 and 1995, a period during which Ginuwine, Timbaland, and associates such as Missy Elliott and Magoo all worked as members of DeVante Swing's Swing Mob collective. The group was made to constantly practice and write, often contributing writing and production to tracks for DeVante's group Jodeci. Eventually, the Swing Mob and DeVante parted ways, although most of its members would remain regular collaborators for the rest of the decade. Ginuwine…the Bachelor is both a showcase for the singer and the producer. Ginuwine's vocal style and Timbaland's unusual instrumental tracks made for a successful combination, with the album's first single, "Pony" (cowritten by Ginuwine, Timbaland, and Steve "Static" Garrett), becoming a Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Future singles included "Tell Me Do You Wanna", a cover of Prince's 1984 single "When Doves Cry", "I'll Do Anything/I'm Sorry" (co-written by and featuring guest vocals from Missy Elliott), "Only When Ur Lonely" and "Holler".
