Gilles de Robien (born April 10, 1941) is a notable French politician. In 1989, he was elected mayor of the city of Amiens, and then reelected twice. However he was defeated in the French municipal elections of 2008 by Gilles Demailly, a member of the Socialist Party.He was Minister of National Education from August 2005 to May 2007, and a member of Parliament from 1996 to 2007.
