- Gheorghe Ciuhandu (* 15. Juni 1947 in Timișoara, Kreis Timiș) ist ein rumänischer Politiker und war von 1996 bis 2012 Bürgermeister der Stadt Timișoara. Am 18. Juni 2011 wurde er in den Vorstand der PNŢCD gewählt. Von August 2004 bis Januar 2007 war er Vorsitzender dieser Partei. Gheorghe Ciuhandu ist Sohn der Professoren Gheorghe und Felicia Ciuhandu. Der Großvater väterlicherseits, auch namens Gheorghe Ciuhandu, war orthodoxer Pfarrer, aktiver Teilnehmer an der Großen Einigung, Abgeordneter im Rumänischen Parlament, Ehrenmitglied der Rumänischen Akademie, und verheiratet mit Anamaria George (Universitätslehrkraft). A building engineer by profession, he graduated from the Traian Vuia Polytechnic Institute in 1970, earning a doctorate in 1986 and joining the faculty in 1993. He was the mayor of Timișoara from 1996 to 2012 and was one of the losing candidates for president in the 2004 presidential elections, in which he represented the Christian Democratic National Peasants' Party (PNȚCD). He replaced Victor Ciorbea as president of the PNȚCD in 2004, and, in 2007 he was replaced by Marian Petre Miluț as president of PNȚCD. (en)

Gheorghe Ciuhandu was lid van de toenmalige Nationale Christen-Democratische Boerenpartij (Partidul Național Țărănesc Creștin Democrat, PNȚCD). Hij was van 3 juni 1996 tot 9 juni 2012 burgemeester van de West-Roemeense stad Timișoara. Gheorghe Ciuhandu werd in 2004 tot voorzitter van de PNȚCD gekozen. Hij volgde hiermee oudpremier Victor Ciorbea op als partijleider. In 2005 steunde hij wijziging van de partijnaam in Christendemocratische Volkspartij (Partidul Popular Creștin-Democrat, PPCD). De naamsverandering werd een jaar later al weer teruggedraaid. In 2007 werd hij opgevolgd . Gheorghe Ciuhandu was in 2004 de kandidaat van de PNȚCD bij de presidentsverkiezingen van dat jaar. Hij kwam niet verder dan de eerste ronde in november en kreeg 1,90% (198.394) van de stemmen.
