  • 荒戸 源次郎（あらと げんじろう、1946年10月10日 - ）は、日本の映画プロデューサー、映画監督である。長崎県出身、福岡市育ち。 生後間もなく福岡市に転居し、九州大学入学時まで福岡に住む。学生運動に身を投じて上京。唐十郎主宰の劇団「状況劇場」と出合い、演劇の道に。 1972年に劇団「天象儀館」を、上杉清文らと旗揚げ。他の団員に、杉田一男、秋山道男、櫻木徹郎、熊倉正雄がいた。また、一時は平岡正明も加わっていた。 1973年には、天象儀館のメンバーの出演による、大和屋竺監督・田中陽造脚本による映画、『朝日のようにさわやかに』を製作し、自ら主演。映画プロデュースの道に入る。「天象儀館」で続けて数作、映画を撮るもくろみであったが、挫折。その計画の中には、鈴木清純監督作も含まれていた。 のちの1980年に、映画界の伝説的存在となっていた鈴木清順の監督で『ツィゴイネルワイゼン』を、「映画公開のために専用の小屋を建てる」という、製作・興行を一体で行う方式を成功させ話題になる。 1989年には、『どついたるねん』で監督阪本順治と俳優赤井英和のデビューを手掛け、再び映画界に旋風を起こす。 その後も、ふたたび鈴木清順監督の『陽炎座』（1981）『夢二』（1991）、阪本監督の『鉄拳』（1990）『王手』（1991）『トカレフ』（1994）、また坂東玉三郎監督『外科室』（1992）を製作。 また、1995年には、かつての「天象儀館」団員の秋山道夫がプロデューサーをつとめる、内田春菊原作の『ファザーファッカー』の映画化の、監督を依頼され、秋山を主人公を犯す義父役に配役して、制作し好評を得る。 2003年には車谷長吉原作の『赤目四十八瀧心中未遂』を監督し、主演大西滝次郎、寺島しのぶの映画デビューを手掛け、毎日映画コンクール日本映画大賞、ブルーリボン賞作品賞をはじめ、映画賞を多数受賞。 2005年には、上野公園の東京国立博物館の敷地内に映画館「一角座」が、大森立嗣監督の『ゲルマニウムの夜』（花村萬月の芥川賞受賞作の映画化）の上映を目的として、国内最高峰の映像・音響設定を備えて建てられ、その製作総指揮を執る。 同館は、以降も荒戸のプロデュース作品を中心に、独自の上映活動やトークショウなどの企画を続けており、2007年には「幻の映画」となっていた、『朝日のようにさわやかに』を34年ぶりに公開した。 また、2007年には、小説家の夏石鈴子と結婚した。 (ja)
