- General Berthelot [ĝeneral bertelo] (hungare: Alsófarkadin) estas komunumo en Rumanio okcidente de Hațeg. En 1910 ĝi havis 379 loĝantojn (rumanoj, hungaroj); en 1956 459 (rumanoj). La unua skriba mencio estas el 1411. Ĝis 1919 ĝi apartenis al Hungario (Hunyad vármegye). Administre apartenas al ĝi la vilaĝoj Crăguiș, Fărcădin, Livezi kaj Tuștea, kun kiuj ĝi parte kunkonstruiĝis. Post la unua mondmilito la rumanaj gereĝoj donacis al la franca generalo Henri Mathias Berthelot (1861–1931) terenon ĉe la vilaĝo, pro la meritoj de Francio pri la liberigo de Rumanio. En 1923 la loka konsilio decidis ŝanĝi la nomon de la vilaĝo (tiam Fărcădinul de Jos) al General Berthelot. En 1965 la komunisma registaro ŝanĝis la nomon al Unirea (unuiĝo). En 2001 loka referendumo decidis reŝanĝon al General Berthelot. La ŝanĝo okazis la 7-an de decembro 2001, je la 140-a naskiĝdata reveno de Berthelot. Berthelot heredigis bienon sur sia tereno al la Rumana Akademio kun la direktivo uzi la renton por stipendioj al juna rumanaj oficiroj por studi en la armea akademio de Nancy. In 1923 and again in 2001, the commune was named after Henri Mathias Berthelot - who was rewarded by King Ferdinand for his role during World War I with properties in the village confiscated from the Nopcsa family. Originariamente denominato Fărcădinul de Jos, il comune prese il nome attuale nel 1923 in onore del generale Henri Berthelot, capo di stato maggiore francese e comandante della missione militare francese in Romania durante la prima guerra mondiale, al quale il governo romeno aveva conferito la cittadinanza onoraria e donato un vasto terreno nel comune. Durante il periodo comunista, il comune cambiò la propria denominazione in Unirea, riprendendo quella attuale nel 2001, in seguito ad una sentenza del . Alla sua morte, avvenuta nel 1927, il generale Berthelot lasciò il suo terreno all'Accademia Romena, con il vincolo di utilizzare i proventi ottenuti per finanziare una borsa di studio per giovani allievi della Scuola Militare di Bucarest, affinché potessero perfezionarsi all'Accademia Militare di Nancy.
