- Die Frauenfeld-Wil-Bahn, abgekürzt FWB, ist eine Meterspurbahn der Appenzeller Bahnen (AB) in der Schweiz, die das Murgtal im Kanton Thurgau mit den Städten Frauenfeld und Wil verbindet. Die Betriebseröffnung der knapp 17,5 km langen Strecke erfolgte am 1. September 1887. Am 20. November 1921 wurde der elektrische Betrieb mit 1200 V Gleichspannung aufgenommen. Die Frauenfeld-Wil-Bahn AG (offizielle Initialen FW) wurde per 1. Januar 2021 von den Appenzeller Bahnen übernommen (Annektionsfusion). Bereits seit 2003 sind die AB für die operative Führung der Frauenfeld-Wil-Bahn verantwortlich. Die Frauenfeld-Wil-Bahn beförderte im Jahr 2019 1,3 Millionen Personen und 13 Millionen Personenkilometer und ist eingebunden in den Tarifverbund Ostwind. Es fahren jeweils drei Pendelzüge im 30-Minuten-Takt, die zu den üblichen Symmetrieminuten in Matzingen und Schweizerhof kreuzen. (de)
- The Frauenfeld–Wil railway is a 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) metre gauge railway line in Switzerland, which connects the town of Frauenfeld in the canton of Thurgau, to the town of Wil in the canton of St. Gallen, following the valley of the Murg river. The Frauenfeld-Wil-Bahn (FWB) opened the line in 1887 and operated it until 2021, when that company merged into Appenzell Railways. The line is included in , and operates as service S15 of the St. Gallen S-Bahn. Plans to build an interurban tramway between Frauenfeld and Wil were first made in the early 1850s. The rail line opened in 1887, and was electrified in 1921. Around 1.25 million passengers use the line every year. Locals call the train "Wilerbähnli" or "Wiler Bähnli". (en)
