- افتتح متحف فرانز ماير في مكسيكو سيتي في عام 1986 لتأسيس أكبر مجموعة من الفنون الزخرفية في أمريكا اللاتينية وعرضها. وقد جمعت المجموعة من قبل فرانز ماير، الذي جمع الأعمال الفنية الجميلة والكتب والأثاث والسيراميك،والمنسوجات والعديد من العناصر الزخرفية لأكثر من خمسين عاما من حياته. ويأتي جزء كبير من الأعمال من أوروبا وآسيا ولكن معظمها يأتي من المكسيك نفسها مع العناصر التي يرجع تاريخها إلى القرنين الخامس عشر و العشرين. العديد من القطع في المجموعة هي من الحرف اليدوية الجميلة، مثل المنسوجات والفخار.يقع المتحف في المركز التاريخي لمدينة مكسيكو في دير سان خوان دي ديوس السابق ؛ومستشفي يعود إلى القرن الثامن عشر تم إعادة تأهيله ليكون متحف. بالإضافة إلى عرض العناصر التي جمعها ماير، لا يزال المتحف يجمع الأعمال، ويعقد ورش العمل، ويرعي المعارض المؤقتة؛ ويحتوي المتحف على مقهى يقع في ساحة الحديقة. - Das Museo Franz Mayer ist ein Kunstmuseum im historischen Zentrum von Mexiko-Stadt. Es wurde 1986 in einem alten Gebäude errichtet, das zuvor über vier Jahrhunderte lang als Hospital genutzt worden war. Das Museum beherbergt die Sammlung des Kunstsammlers Franz Mayer, die einen Schwerpunkt auf Kunsthandwerk und Objekte aus Mexiko aufweist. Die Sammlung umfasst neben dem Kunsthandwerk auch Gemälde, Textilien und Bücher. (de)
- The Franz Mayer Museum (Spanish: Museo Franz Mayer), in Mexico City opened in 1986 to house, display and maintain Latin America’s largest collection of decorative arts. The collection was amassed by stockbroker and financial professional Franz Mayer, who collected fine artworks, books, furniture, ceramics, textiles and many other types of decorative items over fifty years of his life. A large portion comes from Europe and Asia but most comes from Mexico itself with items dating from the 15th to the 20th centuries. Many pieces in the collection are fine handcrafts, such as textiles and Talavera pottery, and they are important because they are items that often did not survive because most did not consider them worth preserving. The museum is housed in the historic center of Mexico City in the former San Juan de Dios monastery and hospital, an 18th-century structure which was rehabilitated for the museum. In addition to displaying the items Mayer collected, of which only over a quarter is visible, the museum still makes acquisitions, hold workshops, sponsors temporary exhibits and has a café located in the center courtyard/garden. - El Museo Franz Mayer, localizado en la Ciudad de México, es uno de los museos más importantes de México. Se inauguró en 1986 con la colección privada del empresario Franz Mayer Traumann (1882-1975), de origen alemán. Alberga una de las principales colecciones de artes decorativas de México y presenta exposiciones temporales de diseño y fotografía. La colección comprende piezas de distinta procedencia, materiales y estilos desde el siglo XVI al siglo XIX, principalmente de México, Europa y Oriente. Los géneros que componen la colección son: cerámica, mobiliario, esculturas, pinturas y grabados y platería. El edificio que actualmente ocupa el museo, es un lugar lleno de historia. Durante cuatro siglos funcionó como hospital, destacando como el primer hospital de América de la Orden de San Juan de Dios. El claustro, que por su belleza es uno de los espacios más atractivos del museo, fue declarado como zona de paz por el XIV Dalai Lama en el 2014. En el claustro alto se encuentra la Biblioteca abierta al público y en donde además se muestran exposiciones del acervo bibliográfico. Resguarda más de 14.000 volúmenes, entre los que destacan libros antiguos y raros, documentos históricos y 800 ediciones de El ingenioso hidalgo don Quijote de La Mancha. El museo ofrece exposiciones temporales, visitas guiadas, cursos, conferencias, conciertos, talleres infantiles, así como actividades especiales para sus afiliados. (es)
- Il Museo Franz Mayer, che si trova a Città del Messico, è uno dei musei più conosciuti del Messico. Ospita la principale collezione di arti decorative del Messico e ospita continuamente esposizioni temporanee di disegni e fotografia. La collezione, permette di apprezzare pezzi di diversi stili e materiali a partire dal XVI secolo. L'edificio che ospita il museo, è un luogo pieno di storia. Per quattro secoli funzionò come istituzione ospedaliera, essendo questo il primo ospedale in America dell'ordine religioso di San Giovanni di Dio. Il chiostro, che per la sua bellezza è una delle parti più interessanti del museo, serve da cornice alle esposizioni temporanee e attraverso di questo si accede a tre sale che riportano il visitatore all'epoca del Vicereame della Nuova Spagna, attraverso: una sala da pranzo, una gabinetto e una cappella. Nel chiostro alto si trova la biblioteca, aperta al pubblico, che ospita più di 14 000 volumi tra i quali trovano posto anche libri rari, documenti storici e 800 diverse edizione del Don Chisciotte della Mancia. Il museo offre ai visitatori guide, corsi, conferenze, concerti, spettacoli, laboratori infantili, così come attività speciali per i soci. (it)
