Frank Wright (9 July 1935 – 17 May 1990) was a free jazz musician known for his frenetic style of tenor saxophone. His style is often compared to Albert Ayler, who was one of his major influences. In addition to tenor saxophone, he also played the soprano saxophone, bass clarinet, and earlier in his life, the electric bass.

Wright begann als Bassist in Rhythm & Blues-Gruppen in Cleveland, wo er auch Albert Ayler hörte. Er zog nach New York City, um mit Ayler, Sunny Murray und weiteren Musikern der ersten Free Jazz-Generation zu spielen. Er zog 1969 nach Paris, wo er lange Jahre lebte und mit Bobby Few, Alan Silva und Muhammad Ali zusammenarbeitete.
