- El foodo és una que parlen els foodos de la zona de la ciutat de , al municipi d' al nord de Benín, al departament de Donga. La majoria dels foodos viuen a Benín (entre 24.500 i 40.000) i hi ha una petita minoria d'uns 1.000 foodos que viuen a Ghana. La llengua foodo es va originar a Ghana. Fa entre 200 i 300 anys un grup de parlants de llengua guang van emigrar des del sud de Ghana fins a Sèmèrè a través d'una antiga ruta de comerç de cola que s'estenia a través de Togo i Benín i arribava a Nigèria. - Foodo (ISO 639-3 fod) is a Guang language spoken in and around the town of in the north of Benin. There are approximately 37,000 speakers (taking the most recent estimate and adding the estimated 3.2% a year growth rate for Benin). A large proportion of the population live beyond the homeland in other parts of Benin, as well as in neighboring Togo, Nigeria, and Ghana. There may be as many as 1,000 living in Ghana. The language has its origin in Ghana. Approximately 200 to 300 years ago, a group of Guang speakers migrated from the south of Ghana to along the ancient cola trade route which extended through Togo and Benin to Nigeria. The various origins of Foodo speakers are still retained in clan names." (en)
- Le foodo est une langue guang parlée dans le nord-ouest du Bénin, dans les arrondissements de Sèmèrè I et Sèmèrè II (commune de Ouaké). Elle compte environ 25 000 locuteurs au total, dont un grand nombre vit en dehors de la région de Sèmèrè, dans d'autres régions du Bénin ou dans les pays voisins (Togo, Nigeria, Ghana). Il y en aurait un millier au Ghana. La langue a son origine au Ghana. Il y a environ 200 à 300 ans, un groupe de locuteurs guang a migré du Ghana à Sèmèrè au long de l'ancienne route de commerce de kola qui s'étendait du Ghana à travers le Togo et le Bénin jusqu’au Nigeria. « Une fois dans leur emplacement actuel, ils se sont assimilés avec les habitants locaux et de nombreux autres groupes d'immigrants qui ont tous adopté la langue de ceux qui sont venus du Ghana.
