- Fleetwood je město ve Velké Británii, ležící asi 10 kilometrů severně od města Blackpool na poloostrově Fylde v nemetropolitním hrabství Lancashire. Žije zde necelých 26 tisíc obyvatel (2011). Fleetwood má rozlohu asi 10 kilometrů čtverečních. Město založil v roce 1836 poslanec a podnikatel s nemovitostmi , po němž bylo pojmenováno. Fleetwood je přímořské letovisko s promenádou a marinou, provozuje se zde kitesurfing, město nabízí návštěvníkům také muzeum a koncertní síň Marine Hall. Ukázkou je dvojice majáků Beach Lighthouse a Pharos Lighthouse z roku 1840, které projektoval . Památkově chráněný je římskokatolický kostel sv. Marie podle projektu z roku 1867. Tradičním zaměstnáním místních obyvatel je rybolov: ještě v šedesátých letech zaměstnával okolo 11 000 osob, v důsledku tresčích válek se počet fleetwoodských rybářů snížil na 600. Místní firma Lofthouse Ltd. je výrobcem pastilek proti nachlazení Fisherman's Friend podle receptu z roku 1865. Ve Fleetwoodu byla 15. července 1922 uvedena do provozu první plně automatizovaná telefonní ústředna v Anglii. Chloubou tohoto města je fotbalový klub Fleetwood Town FC, založený v roce 1908, který hraje třetí nejvyšší anglickou ligu League One. (cs)

- Fleetwood is a coastal town in the Borough of Wyre in Lancashire, England, at the northwest corner of the Fylde. It had a population of 25,939 at the 2011 census. Fleetwood acquired its modern character in the 1830s, when the principal landowner Peter Hesketh-Fleetwood, High Sheriff and MP, conceived an ambitious plan to re-develop the town to make it a busy seaport and railway spur. He commissioned the Victorian architect Decimus Burton to design a number of substantial civic buildings, including two lighthouses. Hesketh-Fleetwood's transport terminus schemes failed to materialise. The town expanded greatly in the first half of the 20th century with the growth of the fishing industry, and passenger ferries to the Isle of Man, to become a deep-sea fishing port. Decline of the fishing industry began in the 1960s, hastened by the Cod Wars with Iceland, though fish processing is still a major economic activity in Fleetwood. The town's most significant employer today is Lofthouse of Fleetwood, manufacturer of the lozenge Fisherman's Friend which is exported around the world. (en)

In oktober 2021 werd bekend gemaakt dat Doreen Lofthouse (die in maart 2021 op 91e jarige leeftijd is overleden) een bedrag van GBP 41.4 miljoen heeft nagelaten aan het dorp waar ze is opgegroeid. Het bedrag is bestemd om Fleetwood verder te ontwikkelen en de kwaliteit van het leven in het dorp te verbeteren. Deze donatie staat niet opzich. Sinds de jaren 90 heeft Doreen Lofthouse al miljoenen gestoken in allerlei projecten in Fleetwood. Doreen Lofthouse was de topvrouw van Fisherman's Friend.
