Fenton is a village and civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 9 mi (14 km) north-west from the city and county town of Lincoln, 4 miles (6.4 km) west from Saxilby, and on the A156 Lincoln to Gainsborough road. The population of the civil parish was 297 at the 2001 census, increasing to 353 at the 2011 census. Fenton is a centre for the breeding of a local cattle variety, the Lincoln Reds. It is also a centre for fishing, being 1 mile (1.6 km) to the east the River Trent. The village public house is the Carpenter Arms.

  • Unremarkable white rendered vernacular building with pantile roof and chimneys at each end. It is starkly symmetrical with 3 windows upstairs, and downstairs a central door with a window on either side. To the left a low white rendered wall extends along the pavement; to the right the open carpark abuts the road. The ground floor windows are flanked with dark shutters, and the door with dark noticeboards. The pub sign is a long painted affair fixed above the right hand ground floor window. A more conventional swinging sign is at the left of the building, edge-on to us: its details unseen. It is a sunny day, with a clear blue sky and the whitewashed building is fresh and bright. dark electrical cables, pole mounted, cross the blue sky in front of the pub. (en)
