- علم النفس التطوري للأديان هو دراسة الاعتقاد الديني باستخدام مبادئ علم النفس التطوري. ويتّبع نهج علم نفس الأديان. يُقال أنّ بنية الدماغ الوظيفية لها أساس جينيّ كما هو الحال مع جميع أجهزة الجسم الأخرى ووظائف الأجهزة الأخرى، وبالتالي فإنّها تخضع لتأثيرات الانتقاء الطبيعي والتطور. يسعى علماء النفس التطوريون إلى فهم العمليات المعرفية، والدين، من خلال فهم وظائف البقاء والإنجاب التي قد تخدمهم. - The evolutionary psychology of religion is the study of religious belief using evolutionary psychology principles. It is one approach to the psychology of religion. As with all other organs and organ functions, the brain's functional structure is argued to have a genetic basis, and is therefore subject to the effects of natural selection and evolution. Evolutionary psychologists seek to understand cognitive processes, religion in this case, by understanding the survival and reproductive functions they might serve. (en)

- La psychologie évolutionniste de la religion est l'étude des croyances religieuses suivant les principes de la psychologie évolutionniste. C'est une des approches de la psychologie de la religion. Comme tous les autres organes et leurs fonctions, le cerveau et sa structure cognitive fonctionnelle sont considérés comme ayant des bases génétiques et étant donc sujets aux effets de la sélection naturelle et de l'évolution. Ainsi, cette structure fonctionnelle devrait être partagée par les humains et résoudre des problèmes importants concernant la survie et la reproduction.
