| - Blessed Eustáquio van Lieshout (November 3, 1890-August 30, 1943) was a Dutch missionary in Brazil, and a religious and priest of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. He was born as Huub van Lieshout in Aarle-Rixtel in the diocese of 's-Hertogenbosch in the province of North Brabant of the Netherlands. While still a young priest in Europe, in recognition of his work, the King of Belgium knighted him in the Order of Léopold. He was pastor for a while of Roelofarendsveen in the Netherlands. (en)
- Pater Eustachius van Lieshout (3 november 1890 - 30 augustus 1943) was een Nederlands geestelijke die in 2006 is zaligverklaard. Huub van Lieshout werd geboren te Aarle-Rixtel in een katholiek boerengezin met 11 kinderen. Hij wilde van jongs af aan missionaris worden bij de Congregatie van de Heilige Harten, net als zijn grote voorbeeld Pater Damiaan De Veuster, de apostel van de lepralijders van het Hawaïaanse eiland Molokai. In de jaren twintig van de 20e eeuw werd zijn eerste standplaats Agua Suja, een afgelegen plattelandsparochie in Brazilië. Door zijn zegen en gebed genas Eustachius zieken en bood hij mensen op allerlei manieren hulp. In 1935 werd hij pastoor in Poá, vlak bij de grote industriestad São Paulo. Dagelijks wilden duizenden mensen hem ontmoeten, het liep zozeer uit de hand dat hij in 1941 tijdelijk onderdook in het binnenland. Hij werd overgeplaatst naar Belo Horizonte, waar hij bouwpastoor werd van een arme arbeidersparochie. in 1943 werd hij door een insectenbeet besmet met vlektyfus. Hij stierf op 30 augustus 1943. De begrafenis werd een triomftocht en nog steeds komen er dagelijks mensen bidden bij zijn graf. Op 12 april 2003 heeft paus Johannes Paulus II pater Eustachius van Lieshout opgenomen in de rijen van Eerbiedwaardige Dienaren Gods, en op 15 juni 2006 werd hij zaligverklaard in de stad Belo Horizonte in Brazilië. Nascido Huub van Lieshout, no seio de uma família de camponeses católicos em Aarle-Rixtel na província Brabante do Norte, nos Países Baixos, desde jovem desejava ser missionário da Congregação dos Sagrados Corações. Seguindo o exemplo do padre Damião de Veuster, o apóstolo dos asilados leprosos da Ilha de Molokai, ingrssou no seminário daquela ordem religiosa. Por um tempo, ele foi pastor de Roelofarendsveen nos Países Baixos. Em reconhecimento ao seu trabalho de jovem padre, ainda na Europa, foi agraciado com a medalha da Ordem de Leopoldo Rei dos Belgas. Padre Eustáquio chegou ao Brasil como missionário em 1925, respondendo a um chamado do bispado local. Lá, tornou-se vigário em Água Suja, no interior de Minas Gerais. Pelas suas bênções e orações, ele curava os doentes e ajudava as pessoas de todas as maneiras possíveis.Em 1935, tornou-se vigário de Poá, em São Paulo. Milhares de pessoas visitavam-no diariamente, causando problemas pelo fato de o município não comportar tanta gente. Em conseqüência,teve de buscar refúgio temporário no interior. Tendo sido transferido em 1942, tornou-se vigário de uma Paróquia em Belo Horizonte. Em 1943, foi picado por um carrapato, contraindo febre maculosa, doença então conhecida como "tifo exantemático", vindo a falecer em 30 de agosto de 1943.Em 15 de junho de 2006, foi beatificado pelo papa Bento XVI.
