- Euronat is a naturist holiday resort near the CHM Montalivet naturist resort, in Grayan-et-l'Hôpital, France. After the success of CHM Montalivet, it was apparent that there was a need for even more capacity. Euronat was founded by Hubert Lacroix (1931–1995) in a pine forest 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) away from the beach. This is reached on a boardwalk through protected dunes or by a roadway where there is parking near the beach. The whole area is naturist. Euronat opened in 1975. It is 335 hectares (830 acres) in area making it the largest naturist holiday centre in Europe. It is licensed for permanent residence. Most of the area is taken up with chalets but 8.1 hectares (20 acres) are reserved for caravanning, and 30 hectares (74 acres) for camping. It also has two mobile home park sections. It has a covered indoor heated swimming pool, a new outdoor pool, an outdoor slide pool, a large conference hall, and boasts a Thalassotherapy centre. The center includes fitness classes, a weight room with machines and free weights, although they are about 30 yrs old. There are services like massage, mud baths, seaweed treatments and the other latest beauty treatments. Located near the camping section are basketball courts and tennis courts. There are 25 shops in the shopping centre. These include a bakery, wine shop, a grocery store, a fish market, and a general merchandise shop. Among its cultural offerings, Euronat has had a strong connection with Francois Malkovsky (1889-1982), a proponent of 'free dance'. Also in the center is a pizzeria, seafood restaurant, French restaurant and ice cream stand. A few bars complete the center. According to the center's bylaws, users must adopt total nudity in all parts of Euronat, including the shopping mall. The two supervised beaches are 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) in total and have two helicopter pads, for air ambulance use. (en)
- Avec une surface de 335 hectares, Euronat est le plus grand centre de vacances naturistes en Europe, il a ouvert ses portes en 1975. Il est situé à Grayan-et-l'Hôpital, à quelques kilomètres d'un autre centre naturiste : le CHM-Montalivet ouvert depuis 1950. Euronat couvre une surface de 335 hectares située en bordure de la plage naturiste de Dépée, longue de 1,8 kilomètre. Le centre contient plus de 1 400 emplacements de camping, 500 bungalows ainsi que 70 mobile-homes à la location et environ 1200 chalets en tout. . De nombreuses personnes résident toute l'année à Euronat. Actuellement, la nudité intégrale n'est pas toujours respectée (sauf à la plage). Une étude publiée par un guide des campings naturistes évalue cette nudité à presque 60 %. Un chiffre qui peut se discuter et être revu à la hausse mais un état de fait qui amène malgré tout la direction du Centre à afficher quelques recommandations sur le sujet, à l'aide de panneaux bien visibles. Ces panneaux ne donnent que des conseils et ne créent en aucun cas une contrainte (pratique de tolérance qui va d'ailleurs à l'encontre du règlement et suscite quelque insatisfaction de la part de puristes, qui s'expriment à leur tour, assez discrètement, sur des panneaux publics). Cette tendance spontanée à une certaine liberté vestimentaire est présente dans quelques centres naturistes et n'est pas propre à Euronat (toutefois dans la majorité des autres villages naturistes la nudité est pratiquée par l'ensemble des naturistes). À Euronat, cette évolution des comportements reste, en définitive, relativement limitée et la nudité continue à dominer largement. Une Association pour la Défense du Naturisme y a été créée. Elle non plus ne crée aucune contrainte. Par contre toute attitude malsaine est sévèrement sanctionnée et expose à l'expulsion immédiate. Des affichettes l'indiquent de manière explicite. (fr)
