- إليانورا فرانسيس بليس كنوبف (بالإنجليزية: Eleanora Knopf) (15 يوليو 1883 – 21 يناير 1974) هي عالمة جيولوجيا كانت تعمل لصالح مؤسسة المساحة الجيولوجية في الولايات المتحدة (USGS)، واشتغلت كذلك في أبحاث عن جبال الأبالاش خلال أول عقدين من القرن العشرين. وقد درست في كلية برين ماور، وفيها نالت درجة البكالريوس في الكيمياء، ثم درجة الماجستير في الجيولوجيا، وأخيرًا درجة الدكتوراه في الجيولوجيا عام 1912. وبعد إتمامها درجة الدكتوراه، قبلت إليانورا وظيفة في الـUSGS حيث قابلت عالم الجيولوجيا أدولف كنوبف، وهو أستاذ في جامعة ييل، ثم تزوجته لاحقًا. وكانت هي أول عالم جيولوجيا أمريكي يستخدم أسلوبًا مبتكرًا في علم وصف الصخور لإتمام أهم أعمالها: دراسة جبل ستيتنج (Stissing Mountain). - Eleanora Frances Knopf (née Bliss;July 15, 1883 – January 21, 1974) was an American geologist who worked for the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and did research in the Appalachians during the first two decades of the twentieth century. She studied at Bryn Mawr College, and earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry, a master's degree in geology, and a Ph.D. in geology in 1912. She was the first American geologist to use the new technique of petrography which she pioneered in her life's work - the study of Stissing Mountain. (en)
