- Echinenon (4-oxo-β-karoten) je karotenoid (konkrétně ) obsažený například v mořských sasankách (v jejich ) a také v některých bakteriích (např. sinice či aktinomycety). Produkce echinenonu může být dosaženou také určitou genetickou modifikací rostlin (např. mrkev, tabák, brambor).
