- Der Nationalpark Duinen van Texel ist einer von derzeit 20 niederländischen Nationalparks.Er liegt in der Provinz Nordholland auf der Insel Texel. Er wurde am 1. Mai 2002 gegründet und hat eine Fläche von etwa 4300 Hektar. Der Nationalpark erstreckt sich über die ganze Westküste von Texel und hat eine Länge von etwa 22 Kilometern bei einer maximalen Breite von vier Kilometern im Süden und Norden. An der schmalsten Stelle bei der Ortschaft De Koog ist er hingegen nur wenige hundert Meter breit. Die höchsten Dünen erreichen eine Höhe von fast 25 Metern. Das Landschaftsbild besteht überwiegend aus dem Dünengürtel der Insel, es gibt aber auch Wälder, Strand-, Heide- und Wasserflächen sowie Priele (De Slufter). Entsprechend vielfältig ist die maritim geprägte Fauna und Flora des Nationalparks. (de)
- Duinen van Texel National Park (duinen = dunes) is a national park located on the North Holland island of Texel in the Netherlands. All dune systems on the western side of the island and the large coastal plains on both the northern and southern points of the island are part of the park. The park covers approximately 43 km2 (17 sq mi) and attained national park status in 2002. The visitor center is located in the natural history museum . In 1927 botanist Jac. P. Thijsse made an illustrated book about the flora and fauna on the island, and pointed out the major environmental values of the island. This book was one of a series, the book was cheap, and the pictures for the book came free with each Verkade chocolate bar. There are many walking trails which follow either red, yellow, blue or green signsThe green routes are not accessible during the bird breeding season. Many bicycle trails cross the park as well. (en)

Ook de strandvlakte in het zuiden en de noordpunt van het eiland vallen in het Nationale Park.Het bezoekerscentrum van het park is te vinden in natuurmuseum Ecomare. Jac. P. Thijsse schreef in 1927 het verkadealbum Texel en wees daarin op de grote natuurwaarde van het eiland. Het park kent veel wandelroutes met rode, gele, blauwe en groene paaltjes. Een van de routes, die populair is bij kinderen, is het zogenaamde Sommeltjespad in het Californiëbos. De groene routes zijn alleen buiten het broedseizoen vrij toegankelijk.Door het park lopen verschillende fietspaden. Het Nationaal Park Duinen van Texel vormt samen met het Lage Land van Texel het Natura 2000-gebied "Duinen en Lage Land Texel". (nl)
