- Die Dillinger Hütte (Firma: AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke) ist ein Hüttenwerk in Dillingen mit einer über 300-jährigen Geschichte. Sie ist das größte Grobblechwerk Europas. Im Walzwerk werden jährlich Grobbleche mit einem Gesamtgewicht von etwa 2 Mio. t produziert. Die Dillinger Hütte wurde 1685 gegründet und war 1809 das erste deutsche Unternehmen, das Aktien ausgab. Die erste Stranggussanlage für Brammen wurde im Jahr 1962 in Betrieb genommen. 1998 kam u. a. eine weitere Anlage für 400 mm dicke Brammen hinzu. 2010 wurde erstmals eine 450 mm dicke Bramme gegossen (abermals ein Weltrekord). Seit Juli 2017 gibt es eine Anlage für Brammen bis 600 mm für die dicksten Stranggussbrammen der Welt. Hauptaggregate des Walzwerks sind zwei Quartogerüste. Das Vorgerüst ist mit 5,5 m Ballenbreite und maximal 108 MN Walzkraft (ca. 11.000 t) eines der größten der Welt. Dillingen ist der einzige Produktionsstandort von Roheisen im Saarland. Das benötigte Roheisen wird von der ROGESA Roheisengesellschaft Saar mbH erzeugt, die zu 50 % im Besitz der AG ist. In den Hochöfen auf dem Werksgelände werden jährlich etwa 4 Mio. t Roheisen produziert; davon werden etwa 2,5 Mio. t im Stahlwerk der AG zu Rohstahl veredelt. Die Dillinger Hütte betreibt auch ein kleineres Grobblechwerk in der französischen Hafenstadt Dunkerque und ein Werk in Nordenham an der Wesermündung, wo Fundamente für Offshore-Windkraftanlagen gebaut werden. 2021 hat die Bundeswehr der Dillinger Hütte das bedeutende Zertifikat TL 2350-0000 für einen Spezialstahl (Panzerstahl) erteilt. The plant was founded in 1685, and was Germany's first Aktiengesellschaft, or joint stock company (1809). The first continuous-caster for slabs in the world was commissioned in Dillingen in 1962. A further machine, permitting casting of slabs of up to 400 mm in thickness - the thickest produced anywhere in the world at that time - was added, along with other new facilities, in 1998. In 2010, Dillinger Hütte successfully produced the first 450 mm thick slab - another world record. The principal equipment in the rolling mill now takes the form of two four-high stands, of which one is currently the largest in the world, with an effective rolling width of 5.5 m and a rolling pressure of 110 MN. Le Groupe sidérurgique international Arcelor Mittal détient 30,08 % des parts de la DHS Holding, la Saarstahl AG en détient 33,75 % et la Struktur-Holding-Stahl 15 %. À l’inverse, la Dillinger Hütte détient 25,10 % des parts de la Saarstahl AG. Elle détient 50 % des parts de la ROGESA Roheisengesellschaft dont les hauts fourneaux se trouvent sur le site de l’usine de la Dillinger Hütte produisent, entre autres, la fonte brute nécessaire à la fabrication de l’acier.
