Curtis is the third studio album by rapper 50 Cent. Released on September 11 2007, the album features production from Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Timbaland, among others. Guest appearances include Akon, Justin Timberlake, Nicole Scherzinger, and other notable musicians.
Music critics have noted that 50 Cent divides between "hard" songs and "soft" songs on the album. Curtis was released to significant commercial success, selling 691,000 copies in its first week on the Billboard 200, the highest sales week for an East Coast album since Jay-Z's Kingdom Come debuted with 680,000 copies sold several months earlier. Het album zou eigenlijk Before I Self-Destruct heten maar 50 Cent verklaarde dat hij die titel voor z'n laatste album wilde houden. Before I Self Destruct staat op dit moment gepland voor maart 2008.
Op iTunes werd de tracklist bekendgemaakt, maar toen 50 Cent op 18 mei bij de Amerikaanse TV-Show '106 & Park' was, noemde hij een paar nummers die niet op de lijst stonden.. Dat zou de reden geweest zijn voor het uitstel van het album van 19 maart naar 11 september.
De streetsingle van Curtis is het nummer "Straight To The Bank". Het kwam op z'n hoogst op nummer 32 in de VS. De tweede single was "Amusement Park", maar nadat het nummer flopte besloot 50 om het album uit te stellen en een aantal nieuwe tracks toe te voegen. Een daarvan is "Ayo Technology". Het nummer werd geproduceerd door Timbaland en bevat een refrein van Justin Timberlake, en werd een grote hit in meerdere landen. De single "I'll Still Kill" met Akon flopte en de ballad "Follow My Lead" is nog niet officieel uitgekomen, maar stond wel in de Nederlandse tipparade, met als hoogste positie #11. "Come & Go" stond gepland als zevende single van het album, maar er gaan geruchten dat de single geannuleerd is. (nl)

W tym samym dniu gdy ukazała się nowa płyta 50 Centa wyszła również nowa płyta Kanye Westa zatytułowana Graduation. 50 Cent założył się z Westem, że w dniu premiery sprzeda więcej płyt niż on.
