- The Courrier d'Avignon was a newspaper which had an important role in the international French-language press of the 18th century. Published in the papal enclave within the kingdom of France, then in Monaco, it escaped the system controlling the press within France itself (privilege with permission) despite being under papal control. It appeared from 1733 to 1793 with two breaks, the first between July 1768 and August 1769 due to Avignon's annexation by France and the second between 30 November 1790 and 24 May 1791.

- Der Courrier d’Avignon war eine französische Zeitung des achtzehnten Jahrhunderts, die mit einer Auflage von bis zu 9000 Exemplaren einen wichtigen Platz innerhalb der internationalen französischsprachigen Presse einnahm. Der Courrier wurde zeitweise in einer päpstlichen Enklave nahe Monaco herausgegeben, wo er zwar unter kirchlicher Aufsicht stand, sich aber der Pressezensur des französischen Königsstaates entziehen konnte. Der Courrier d’Avignon erschien von 1733 bis 1793 mit zwei Unterbrechungen. Die erste fand zwischen Juli 1768 und August 1769 statt, als Avignon von Frankreich annektiert wurde. Die zweite erfolgte von November 1790 bis Mai 1791, während der Französischen Revolution. (de)

Publié dans le Comtat Venaissin, qui appartenait aux États pontificaux, puis à Monaco, le journal échappait au système de contrôle de la presse en France (privilège avec autorisation préalable) tout en subissant le contrôle des autorités pontificales. Le Courrier d'Avignon parut de 1733 à 1793 avec deux interruptions, l'une entre juillet 1768 et août 1769 à cause de l'annexion d'Avignon à la France et l'autre entre le 30 novembre 1790 et le 24 mai 1791.
