- Ústavní soud České republiky je specializovaná česká soudní instituce, která stojí mimo systém obecných soudů a jejímž základním posláním je garantovat ústavnost právního řádu a poskytovat ochranu základních lidských práv fyzických a právnických osob na základě ústavního pořádku České republiky, a to i proti rozhodnutím obecných soudů, která by nebyla v souladu s ústavním pořádkem. Rozhoduje 15 soudců včetně předsedy a dvou místopředsedů. Sídlem Ústavního soudu je Brno, soud je umístěn v budově bývalé moravské Zemské sněmovny, ve které od roku 1991 sídlil již Ústavní soud ČSFR. Shromáždění občanů v okruhu 100 m od budov Ústavního soudu nebo od míst, kde Ústavní soud jedná, jsou zakázána. (cs)
- Das Verfassungsgericht der Tschechischen Republik (Ústavní soud České republiky) ist ein unabhängiges Verfassungsorgan Tschechiens und ein spezielles Gericht auf dem Gebiet des Verfassungsrechts. Es ist nicht Teil des Systems der allgemeinen Gerichte in Tschechien. Seine grundlegende Aufgabe ist die Verfassungsmäßigkeit der Rechtsordnung der Republik zu garantieren und den Schutz der Grundrechte zu gewähren. Das Gericht hat seinen Sitz in Brünn (Brno) im Gebäude des früheren Mährischen Landtages, wo sich seit 1991 bereits die vorhergehende Institution, das Verfassungsgericht der ČSFR, befand. Der Umkreis von 100 Metern um das Gebäude bzw. den Tagungsort wurde zur Bannmeile erklärt. (de)
- The Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic (Czech: Ústavní soud České republiky) is a specialized type of court which primarily works to protect the people in the Czech Republic against violations of the Constitution by either the legislature, government or by any other subject that violates people's constitutional rights and freedoms. In this respect, it is similar in functionality to the Supreme Court of the United States, but is distinct from the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic. Of all the various levels of the Czech Judiciary it is the one created with the greatest specificity in the constitution. The decisions of the Court are final, cannot be overturned and are considered a source of law, similar to precedents in a common law system. Although the Court itself was established only in 1993, its Czechoslovak predecessor was already provided for in the Constitution of 1920, making Czechoslovakia the first country in the world with a system of judicial review by a specialized court (although the court itself first convened after the Austrian one). It was later adopted by many other countries. (en)
