- Comporta is a freguesia ("civil parish") and village in the municipality of Alcácer, in the old district of Setúbal, in continental Portugal, located at the base of Tróia Peninsula, along the Sado estuary. The population in 2011 was 1,268, in an area of 150.54 km². It is part of, and the namesake of, the larger Comporta Coast region. (en)

Dies ergibt eine Bevölkerungsdichte von 8,4 Einwohnern/km². Der Ort liegt direkt an einem Nebenarm des Sado und verfügt über einen zwei Kilometer entfernt liegenden Atlantikstrand. Die Bevölkerung von Comporta lebt von Tourismus, der sich in den letzten Jahren stark entwickelt hat, und der Landwirtschaft. In der Gegend wird extensiver Reisanbau in den Feuchtgebieten des Sado betrieben. Es gibt auch einige Salinen zur Meersalzgewinnung. (de)

Creada por la ley 38/89 de 24 de agosto por separación de la freguesia de Santa María del Castillo la freguesia de Compuerta está limitada al norte por el estuario del río Sado cuya Reserva Natural forma parte del territorio de ella y al oeste por la península de Troia de la que queda separada por el arroyo de Compuerta. La playa de Compuerta (que pertenece administrativamente al concejo contiguo de Grándola) es una atracción turística importante. Un Museo del Arroz da cuenta de la histórica dedicación de la zona a este cultivo. (es)
