Clark is one of the two high schools in Plano that offers the IB (International Baccalaureate) courses. Clark High School has been nicknamed "The Prison" and "Fallout Shelter" by other schools due to the fact that it was built in the late 70's, during the movement for energy efficiency, and therefore has a lack of windows in the main building. The High School has recently been added a new wing of the building, which was much needed due to overcrowding in the old building. The new building consists of science classes, art classes and foreign language classes. It also boasts a new listening lab is some of the foreign language rooms. Clark High School maintains a population of over 1,300. The school's current principal is Stephanie Schmoker. (en)
