Claddagh Records is a record label which was founded in 1959 by Garech Browne and Ivor Browne. It specialises in Irish traditional music and spoken word. Claddagh was formed when no record label would sign Leo Rowsome as they all said that no one would wish to listen to an entire album of pipes. The first Claddagh album was Rí na bPíobairí (King of the Pipers) by piper Leo Rowsome. The second was the Chieftains first recording. The most famous artists in their roster are The Chieftains.
