- Christoph Sauser (born 13 April 1976 in Sigriswil, Switzerland) is a cross-country mountain biker who won the bronze medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. He currently races on the Specialized Cross Country Team. He was the overall winner of the UCI World Cup in 2004 and 2005, along with taking 2nd in 2002 and 2003, with a 3rd place in 2001. He has won a total of 10 World Cups. In 2006 Sauser won his first Absa Cape Epic with partner Silvio Bundi. He then partnered up with Burry Stander winning back to back in 2011 and 2012. Sauser partnered up with Jaroslav Kulhavý in 2013, once again claiming 1st in the marathon stage race. At the 2015 Absa Cape Epic Sauser rode himself in the race’s history books by becoming the first person to win it a landmark five times, after which he retired from professional racing. In March 2017 Sauser came out of retirement in a bid to win his sixth Absa Cape Epic. In spite of being in good form he and partner Jaroslav Kulhavý (Investec Songo Specialized) finished second to Nino Schurter and Matthias Stirnemann (Scott-Sram). The Sauser/Kulhavy combination was hampered by punctures at critical times. He won first place in the 2008 Mountain Bike World Championships, came second in the 2005 edition, and third in 2001. He has been Swiss champion four times. In his early years of racing he started in both XC and DH races. He is one of the top mountain bikers in the last few years. (en)

- Christoph Sauser (Sigriswil, 13 april 1976) is een Zwitserse ex-mountainbiker. Hij is voormalig en meervoudig wereldkampioen, dit zowel in de Marathon als in Cross Country. Sauser deed oorspronkelijk vooral aan Downhill. Later stapte hij over naar de Cross Country. In De 22-jarige Sauser stak voor het eerst zijn neus aan het venster in 1998. Tijdens de 5de manche van de Wereldbeker in het Britse Plymlouth werd hij 3de. Dit was de start van een indrukwekkende carrière. Uiteindelijk zou Sauser 12 Wereldbekers winnen tussen 1999 en 2008. In 2004 en 2005 zou hij ook de eindstand van de wereldbeker winnen. Voorts werd hij ook nog 6 maal Nationaal kampioen. Maar de kers op de taart was zijn Wereldtitel in 2008. In het Italiaanse Val di Sole domineerde hij de race, en wist hij zijn landgenoot Florian Vogel 2:55 min achter zich te houden. Sauser nam ook 3 maal deel aan de Olympische Spelen. In 2000 was hij goed voor brons, 4 jaar later in 2004 gaf hij na 3 rondes op, in 2008 ten slotte strandde hij op 2 seconden van brons en werd hij 4de. Voor de spelen van kon hij zich niet meer kwalificeren. Zijn specialiteit is vooral de Marathon. In deze discipline werd hij 3 maal Wereldkampioen, een record. Ook in de prestigieuze Cape Epic is hij met 5 eindoverwinningen recordhouder. Na het WK Marathon in juni 2015, waar Sauser 2de werd, hing hij zijn fiets aan de wilgen. (nl)
