Christl Haas (September 19, 1943 – July 8, 2001) was an Austrian alpine skiing champion at the 1964 Winter Olympics. Haas was born in at Kitzbühel. In the World Cup she won four downhill competitions in total. At the Alpine skiing World Championship 1962 in Chamonix, France, she won gold in the downhill competition.

Haas became a national hero as a twenty year old Olympic champion in the downhill event at the first Innsbruck Winter Olympics. She became an instant superstar in her homeland as she won the gold medal in her home nation. Haas followed up her success at Innsbruck with a bronze medal at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, France. As an Austrian gold medalist, Haas was selected with luger Josef Feistmantl to light the Olympic torch for the opening of the 1976 Winter Olympics on February 4, 1976. In 2001, Christl Haas had a heart attack while swimming in the Mediterranean Sea at Antalya, Turkey and died as a result. (en)

Grazie a questa vittoria sulle nevi di casa, divenne immediatamente una superstar in patria. Fece seguito a questo successo anche un bronzo alle Olimpiadi invernali del 1968, di Grenoble. Nel 1976 Christl Haas fu scelta assieme allo slittinista Josef Feistmantl come ultimo tedoforo della staffetta olimpica per le Olimpiadi di Innsbruck. Nella cerimonia inaugurale, il 4 febbraio 1976, i due olimpionici austriaci accesero due distinti bracieri, simboleggianti le due edizioni dei Giochi Olimpici ospitate dalla città tirolese: Christl Haas accese il vecchio braciere dei Giochi del 1964, mentre Feistmantl accese il nuovo braciere creato per i Giochi del 1976. Sie gewann im Weltcup, den es erst seit Jänner 1967 gibt, insgesamt vier Abfahrtsläufe. Bei der Weltmeisterschaft 1962 in Chamonix konnte sie Gold im Abfahrtslauf gewinnen. Bei den Olympischen Spielen 1964 in Innsbruck gewann sie wiederum Gold in der Abfahrt und Silber in der Kombination, wobei die Kombinationsmedaille lediglich als Weltmeisterschaftsmedaille zählt. Bei den Olympischen Spielen 1968 in Grenoble gewann sie nochmals Bronze in der Abfahrt. Christl Haas ertrank in der Türkei im Alter von 57 Jahren beim Schwimmen im Mittelmeer. (de)

Under VM 1962 i Chamonix vant hun gull i utfor, og to år senere gikk hun til topps i samme disiplin under OL i Innsbruck.
