  • Chris Cain (born September 1 1977) is the bassist and backing vocalist of New York-based band We Are Scientists. He formed the band with fellow student Keith Murray at Pomona College, Claremont, California, in 1997, after meeting to watch Dawson’s Creek in Cain's room. Cain has a son named Dash, named after a mystery-writer named Dashiell Hammett. Cain is a very humorous character, possessing a wild abstract sense of humour, often confusing the interviewer with jokes in interviews and with bandmate Murray entertaining the crowd at gigs with their banter between songs. Some of Cain's other notable attributes are as follows- he enjoys collecting antique frog skins, he can perform professional ballet from his stint in the "Russian School of Roullette" and is also very handy with a pick-axe.
