- The Chinese Community Center at 60-64 Mott Street is home to both the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA), the oldest Chinese community service organization of Chinatown established in 1883, and New York Chinese School, established in 1909 for children who came from overseas; both are located in the same Manhattan Chinatown building in New York City. - New York Chinese School is een van de oudste Chinese scholen in Amerika. De school bestaat al sinds 1909 en is gevestigd het New York City. Het doel was om de nakomelingen van de eerste generatie Chinese Amerikanen Chinees onderwijs te verschaffen. De school geeft les in een van de gebouwen van Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (中華公所). Bij de oprichting had de school twintig studenten en tegenwoordig hebben al meer dan drieduizend mensen op de school gezeten. De Chinese school geeft lessen op alle dagen van de week. Doordeweeks zijn de lessen van half vier tot half vijf. De meeste mensen gaan in het weekend naar deze Chinese school. De tijden zijn tien tot één uur en twee tot vijf uur. De klassen zijn ingedeeld in Kantonese en Mandarijnse klassen. De hogere klassen zijn voornamelijk in Kantonees. De huidige schooldirecteur is meneer Wong (黃炯常). (nl)
