- National Highway 228 was a hypothetical highway encircling the island of Taiwan as part of the National Highway System of the People's Republic of China. It never came into existence due to the political status of Taiwan. The People's Republic of China claims control over Taiwan while it is currently administered and controlled by the Republic of China. Taiwan has its own highway system and does not recognize the designation by the People's Republic of China. This observation was eventually dropped in new National Highway plans, replaced by the Dandong-Dongxing Highway in 2013. (en)
- 국도 제228호선(중국어: 228国道)은 중화인민공화국 정부가 1981년에 간선 도로로 제정하였던 일반 국도 노선 가운데 하나이다. 이 노선은 타이완 지구(타이완성)를 지나가는 국도 노선으로 제정되었지만, 제정 당시에는 중화인민공화국 정부가 타이완을 실질적으로 지배하던 상태가 아니었기 때문에, 명목상에 한하여 서류로만 존재한 것으로 드러나고 있다. 그래서 계획상으로 볼 때, 총 연장은 956.394 km인 것으로 나와 있다. 기점과 종점 모두 타이베이시를 삼고 있기 때문에, 타이완섬 일대를 일주하고 있는 도로망으로 분류된다. 하지만 이 도로는 2013년부터 랴오닝성 단둥시와 광시 좡족 자치구 둥싱시를 이어주는 새로운 국도 노선으로 대체되어 오늘에 이르고 있다. - 228国道是中华人民共和国政府于1981年在《国家干线公路网（试行方案）》中曾經为臺灣島规划的環島公路。然而由于兩岸分治，所以这条国道未實際建設，而且漸漸與台灣的建設互不重疊，加上一國兩制推出後國道編制僅限內地使用，因此2013年《国家公路网规划》中取消了台湾环岛公路。同时将舊“228国道”编号赋予一条辽宁丹东至广西东兴的国道纵线使用。該線的意義類似於台灣環島1號線，不過目前這條路線是台灣串連單車遊與摩托車環島的旅行公路，所行經之處部分組成是自行車道。 (zh)
