- The Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography (CMCP) (French: Le Musée canadien de la photographie contemporaine (MCPC)) was a gallery of Canadian contemporary art and documentary photography. Founded in 1985 and affiliated to the National Gallery of Canada (NGC), it was housed at the National Gallery of Canada, located at 380 Sussex Drive, Ottawa. The CMCP did not have a permanent home until it moved to its purpose-built site at 1 Rideau Canal in 1992. The Pavilion entrance building, which was opened on May 7, 1992, was originally proposed by architect Michael Lundhom, who adapted an old railway tunnel running alongside the Chateau Laurier. The museum ultimately was designed and executed by architects Rysavy Rysavy. The glass and concrete entrance from the street, reminiscent of the colonnade leading into the National Gallery, lead patrons down to the main part of the museum which was located below street level. Its founding director and chief curator was Martha Langford, who held those positions from 1985 until 1994. In 2009 it was announced that the CMCP, which had been closed temporarily in 2006, would be permanently closed. Its collections and program of exhibitions were absorbed by the National Gallery of Canada. In 2016, the CMCP's photographic collection was folded into the newly created Canadian Photography Institute (CPI). (en)
- Le musée canadien de la photographie contemporaine (MCPC) (anglais: Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography) est le musée des arts photographiques du Canada. Fondé en 1985 et affilié au Musée des beaux-arts du Canada, il est situé au 1 Canal Rideau à Ottawa, entre le Château Laurier et le Canal Rideau. La collection remonte à 1939, assemblée alors par la Stills Photography Division de l'Office national du film du Canada qui n'avait pas de lieu d'exposition permanent jusqu'à la création du musée. Le bâtiment, inauguré le 7 mai 1992, fut dessiné par l'architecte Michael Lundhom, qui transforma un vieux tunnel ferroviaire qui courait le long du Château Laurier. L'entrée faite de verre et de béton rappelle les colonnades conduisant au Musée des beaux-arts, elle guide le visiteur à la partie principale du musée située sous le niveau de la rue. Le musée a fermé en 2009, et ses collections photographiques ont été transférées en 2016 à l'Institut Canadien de la Photographie (Canadian Photography Institute) nouvellement créé. (fr)

Fundado en 1985 como organismo asociado de la Galería Nacional de Canadá dispuso de los fondos de la División de Stills Photography del National Film Board of Canada. En 1992 se trasladó a una nueva sede situada en el número uno del Canal Rideau junto al Château Laurier. Desde 1998 la administración de CMCP depende de la Galería Nacional y en 2009 fue integrado en ella trasladando sus fondos a la misma. El edificio que se inauguró el 7 de mayo de 1992 fue diseñado por el arquitecto Michael Lundhom, que adaptó un antiguo túnel ferroviario que bordeaba el Chateau Laurier. Las vidrieras de la entrada y sus escaleras recuerdan a la columnata que conduce a la Galería Nacional y permite a los visitantes acceder a la parte principal del museo que se encuentra bajo nivel de la calle. Sus colecciones están basadas en donaciones de personas e instituciones canadienses por lo que los fotógrafos nacionales ocupan un lugar destacado, aunque dispone de fotografías de artistas de todo el mundo. Sus fondos fotográficos datan de 1960 y están formados por 17.000 fotografías y más de 160.000 objetos fotográficos entre los que se incluyen negativos, libros, películas y otros. (es)
