- جزيرة بونغويو (بالسواحلية: Kisiwa cha Bongoyo) هي جزيرة غير آهلة بالسكان في تنزانيا تقع على بعد 2.5 كيلومتر إلى الشمال من العاصمة السابقة دار السلام. وهي من أكثر جزر الأربعة ارتياداً حيث يزورها السياح والسكان المحليين على حد سواء خلال ساعات النهار لممارسة الغوص السطحي أو التشمّس. تقع الجزيرة بالقرب من شبه جزيرة مساساني الواقعة ضمن مقاطعة كينوندوني من المدينة. ويستغرق بلوغها بالقارب من المدينة نحو ثلاثين دقيقة تقريباً. نقطة الانطلاق بالنسبة لمعظم زوار الجزيرة هي من مجمّع «المنزلقات» الفندقي الواقع على الطرف الغربي من شبه جزيرة مساساني. تتميز الجزيرة بساحلها الصخري الشديد فلا يوجد عليها سوى شاطئين اثنين. يرتاد جميع زوار الجزيرة الشاطئ الواقع عند الطرف الشمالي الغربي من الجزيرة حيث ترسي القوارب. وهناك تنتشر بعض الأكواخ ومتاجر لبيع المشروبات والأطعمة. أمَّا الشاطئ الآخر الواقع على الجانب الشمالي الشرقي من الجزيرة (وهو الأطول والأكثر ضيقاً) فلا توجد عليه هكذا منشآت وهو مهجور بمعظمه. تغطي الغابات الكثيفة سطح الجزيرة بكامله (عدا هذين الشاطئين)، ولا توجد عليها سوى بضعة دروب مخصصة للمشي، ولذلك فلا يجازف أحد بالدخول إلى هناك إلّا قلة من الناس. تتصف تضاريس جزيرة بونغويو بخطورتها وانتشار الصخور الحادة على سطحها. يمكن للمرء في وسط الجزيرة رؤية بقايا مبنى يعود للحقبة الاستعمارية الألمانية، والواقع عند إحداثيات 6°42′8.48″S 39°16′11.49″E / 6.7023556°S 39.2698583°E، حيث يظهر بوضوح على خرائط جوجل. يخترق المحيط الهندي ساحل الجزيرة الشمالي مشكلاً بحيرة شاطئة مدّية. وتنتشر بعض الأيكة الساحلية على طول هذه السواحل. - Bongoyo Island (or simply Bongoyo) is an uninhabited island in Tanzania, situated 2.5 km north of the country's largest city, Dar es Salaam. It is the most frequently visited of the four islands of the Dar es Salaam Marine Reserve (DMRS) and a popular daytrip for both tourists and Tanzanian residents alike for snorkelling and sunbathing. The island lies close to the Msasani Peninsula (in the Kinondoni district of the city) and is reachable by means of a 30-minute boat ride from the mainland. The point of departure for most visitors to the island is 'The Slipways' hotel complex on the western side of the Msasani Peninsula. The island has a very rocky shore and only two beaches. All visitors visit the beach at the northwestern tip of the island, where the boats moor and where there are some huts, drinks and food. The much longer but narrower beach along the northeastern side has no facilities and is mostly deserted. The entire island (apart from the beaches) is covered in dense forest and has a few walking trails, so only a few people venture there. The terrain is somewhat treacherous with sharp rocks. In the middle of the island one finds the remains of a German colonial building at 6°42′8.48″S 39°16′11.49″E / 6.7023556°S 39.2698583°E, clearly visible on Google Maps. The Indian Ocean has penetrated the northern shore of the island, creating a tidal lagoon along whose shores there are some mangroves. (en)
- Bongoyo es una isla deshabitada en Tanzania, situada a 2,5 kilómetros al norte de la ciudad más grande del país, Dar es Salaam. Es la más visitada de las cuatro islas de la Reserva Marina Dar es Salaam (DMR) y un sitio de excursión popular para los turistas y residentes de ese país, sobre todo para bucear y tomar el sol. La isla se encuentra cerca de la Península Msasani (en el distrito de Kinondoni en la ciudad) y es accesible por medio de un paseo de 30 minutos en bote desde el continente. El punto de partida para la mayoría de los visitantes a la isla es complejo hotelero en el lado occidental de la Península Msasani. La isla tiene una costa muy rocosa y solo dos playas. La isla entera (aparte de las playas) está cubierta por densos bosques y tiene algunos senderos para caminar, pero con el riesgo de que solo unas pocas personas pasan por allí. El terreno es un poco peligroso, con rocas afiladas. En el centro de la isla se encuentran los restos de un edificio colonial alemán. - L'isola di Bongoyo è un'isola della Tanzania situata nell'Oceano Indiano, poco a nord di Dar es Salaam. L'isola è dal 1975 parte di un'area naturale protetta che ne prende il nome, la Riserva marina dell'isola di Bongoyo (Bongoyo Island Marine Reserve), che a sua volta appartiene al gruppo di aree marine protette della Riserva marina di Dar es Salaam (DMRS). Bongoyo è la più visitata e turistica delle quattro isole che appartengono alla DMRS. È nota per le belle spiagge e le possibilità di snorkelling presso la barriera corallina, situata a 20 m dalla riva. L'interno dell'isola è ricco di vegetazione, e in mezzo alla foresta si trovano i ruderi di un insediamento tedesco risalente alla prima guerra mondiale. La zona di Dar es Salaam più vicina a Bongoyo è la penisola di Msasani (nel distretto di Kinondoni), da cui partono i dhow che portano dalla terraferma all'isola in circa 30 minuti.
