| - Birkbeck, University of London, sometimes referred to by its former (and still legal) name Birkbeck College or by the abbreviation BBK, is a constituent college of the University of London. At the undergraduate level, it aims at working people who want to study for degrees in the evenings . At the postgraduate level, it offers many Master's degree programmes that can be studied either part-time or full-time, though nearly all teaching is in the evening, whilst it also admits full-time (as well as part-time) students for PhDs. Its staff members have strong research reputations. It also offers many continuing education courses leading to extramural certificates and diplomas, as well as other short courses. (en)

Jeśli chodzi o studia typu undergraduate, kończących się nadaniem tytułu Bachelor uczelnia przoduje w organizowaniu kursów wieczorowych/zaocznych, w przypadku studiów typu postgradute, kończących się nadaniem tytułu Master lub studiów doktoranckich orgaznizowane są kursy zarówno w trybie dziennym jak i zaocznym. Kilka szkół wchodzących w skład universytetu uzyskało najwyższą notę 5* co plasuje je na równi z takimi uniwersytetami jak Oxford czy Cambridge. W roku 2004 uniwersytet umieszczony został na liście pięciuset najlepszych uniwersytetów świata . Regularnie wydawany jest magazyn studencki Lamp and Owl nawiązujący nazwą do tradycji i motta uczelni In nocte consilium. Birkbeck należy do 1994 Group.
