- The Biebrza Marshes (Biebrza Valley) are a wetland complex, located on the Biebrza river valley, in Suwałki, Łomża in the northeast of Poland. The area encompasses river channels, lakes, extensive marshes with wooded areas on higher ground, such as alder carrs, and well-preserved peat bogs that occupy around 1,000 km2. The area shows a clear succession of habitats from riverside fen through to raised bogs, grading into wet woodland. Because of this unique succession, the area supports a wide diversity of wildlife with large numbers of birds and mammals. Over 250 species of birds have been recorded including more than 80% of the Polish avifauna. Starting in the early spring mating birds attract birdwatchers from around the world. The marshes in the area are commonly flooded and the resulting alluvial soil supports an array of wetland vegetation. It is one of the largest wildlife refuges in Europe. The greater part of this area is the Biebrza National Park, covered by the Ramsar Convention to protect the wetlands and bird breeding grounds. (en)
- Las marismas de Biebrza o pantanos de Biebrza (en polaco: Bagna Biebrzańskie) son una compleja serie de hábitats, situados en el valle del río Biebrza, en Suwałki, Łomża, en el noreste del país europeo de Polonia.La zona comprende canales de ríos, lagos, pantanos extensos con áreas boscosas en tierras más altas y bien conservadas turberas, que ocupan alrededor de 1000 kilómetros cuadrados. El área muestra una clara sucesión de hábitats de ribera a través de pantanos con turberas altas, clasificadas como bosques húmedos. A causa de esta sucesión única, el área apoya un gran número de animales salvajes con muchas aves y mamíferos comunes. Los pantanos de agua en la zona son comúnmente inundados y el suelo aluvial resultante es compatible con una gran variedad de vegetación de orilla del agua. (es)
- De Biebrzamoerassen is een moerasgebied in Polen. Het moerasgebied ligt in het Biebrza Nationaal Park in de woiwodschap Podlachië. Het gebied is 1000 km² groot. De Biebrzamoerassen bestaan uit verschillende habitats zoals meren, draslanden, hoogvenen en bossen. Sommige van de hoogvenen verkeren nog in oorspronkelijke staat. De klassieke successie van laagveen naar hoogveen, met overgangen naar veenbroekbos, is langs een aantal van de rivieren nog goed te zien. De habitats hebben een fauna. Enkele dieren die in dit moerasgebied kunnen worden aangetroffen zijn steltlopers, meeuwen, sterns, de gewone en de zwarte ooievaar, elanden, muskusratten en bevers. (nl)

Jest to obniżenie terenu o długości ponad 100 km, zajęte przez torfowiska niskie oraz leśne torfowiska wysokie. Pośród bagien znajdują się ponadto wyniesienia, zwane „grądami”, „grądzikami” lub „grzędami”. Jest to jedna z największych ostoi dzikiej przyrody w Europie. Rozlewiska Biebrzy to prawdziwe królestwo ptaków – zaobserwowano tu ponad 250 gatunków, czyli ponad 80% polskiej awifauny. Rozpoczynające się wczesną wiosną ptasie gody przyciągają ornitologów z całego świata. Większą część tego terenu zajmuje Biebrzański Park Narodowy, objęty konwencją ramsarską, chroniącą obszary wodno-błotne i lęgowiska ptaków. (pl)
