- El 36è Festival Internacional de Cinema de Berlín va tenir lloc entre el 14 i el 25 de febrer de 1986. El festival va obrir amb Ginger i Fred de Federico Fellini, que va anar al festival fora de competició. L'Os d'Or fou atorgat a la pel·lícula alemanya Stammheim dirigida per . Al festival es va mostrar una retrospectiva dedicada a l'actriu i productora de cinema alemanya Henny Porten. Fou projectat el documental de nou hores de Claude Lanzmann Shoah sobre l'holocaust al Fòrum Internacional de Nou Cinema. (ca)
- The 36th annual Berlin International Film Festival was held 14–25 February 1986. The festival opened with Ginger and Fred by Federico Fellini, which played out of competition at the festival. The Golden Bear was awarded to West German film Stammheim directed by Reinhard Hauff. The retrospective was in honour of German actress and film producer Henny Porten and the homage was dedicated to American film director Fred Zinnemann. Claude Lanzmann's 9 hour long documentary film Shoah about The Holocaust was screened at the Young Filmmakers Forum (renamed the International Forum of New Cinema in 1987). (en)
- Die Internationalen Filmfestspiele Berlin 1986 fanden vom 14. Februar bis zum 25. Februar 1986 statt. Die Berlinale hatte in diesem Jahr ein glanzvollen Beginn mit dem außer Konkurrenz startenden Eröffnungsfilm Ginger und Fred von Federico Fellini. Das Tanzpaar Amelia (Giulietta Masina) und Pippo (Marcello Mastroianni) brachte in Erinnerungen an Ginger Rogers und Fred Astaire die Berlinale schwungvoll an den Start. Eine der Höhepunkte des Festivals fand in diesem Jahr im „Internationalen Forum des jungen Films“ statt. Claude Lanzmann stellte hier seine über 9-stündige Dokumentation Shoah vor. Erstmals wurde bei diesem Festival die „Berlinale Kamera“ verliehen. Einer der ersten Preisträger war Fred Zinnemann, dem das Festival außerdem eine Retrospektive widmete. (de)

- La 36ª edizione del Festival internazionale del cinema di Berlino si è svolta a Berlino dal 14 al 25 febbraio 1986, con lo Zoo Palast come sede principale. Direttore del festival è stato per il settimo anno Moritz de Hadeln. L'Orso d'oro è stato assegnato al film tedesco Stammheim - Il caso Baader-Meinhof di Reinhard Hauff. Il festival è stato aperto dal film Ginger e Fred di Federico Fellini, proiettato fuori concorso. In questa edizione è stata assegnata per la prima volta la Berlinale Kamera, riservata a personalità e istituzioni cinematografiche legate alla storia del festival. I primi vincitori sono stati le attrici Gina Lollobrigida e Giulietta Masina e i registi Sydney Pollack e Fred Zinnemann, al quale è stata anche dedicata la sezione Homage. Altri riconoscimenti introdotti per la prima volta nel 1986 sono stati il Premio Caligari, destinato a film del Forum caratterizzati da particolari innovazioni tematiche o stilistiche, e il Peace Film Prize, assegnato a film di varie sezioni sulla base di qualità estetiche e impegno sociale. Un'altra novità è stata la presenza della Kinderjury, giuria composta da membri tra gli 11 e i 14 anni che ha conferito il premio al miglior film della sezione destinata ai più giovani. - 36. Międzynarodowy Festiwal Filmowy w Berlinie odbył się w dniach 14–25 lutego 1986 roku. Imprezę otworzył pokaz włoskiego filmu Ginger i Fred w reżyserii Federico Felliniego. W konkursie głównym zaprezentowano 25 filmów pochodzących z 19 różnych krajów. Jury pod przewodnictwem włoskiej aktorki Giny Lollobrigidy przyznało nagrodę główną festiwalu, Złotego Niedźwiedzia, niemieckiemu filmowi w reżyserii Reinharda Hauffa. Drugą nagrodę w konkursie głównym, Srebrnego Niedźwiedzia – Nagrodę Specjalną Jury, przyznano włoskiemu filmowi w reżyserii Nanniego Morettiego. (pl)
